Great Staff, good food but no free breakfast

Very nice place. We were happy with our room, and the staff was great. It was quiet, had all the amenities you expect.

One down side, there's no breakfast, only a restaurant on site. They had a $14 buffet that you needed to buy if you wanted breakfast.

Inconsistent stay

Room was okay but bathroom was not well maintained from a maintenance perspective and the fire alarm went off twice (malfunction, no fire).

Bad customer service!

I’ve stayed at a lot of Holiday Inn and HIE sites and this was by far the worst customer service I’ve had. In particular, James at the front desk. He was very rude on Friday night when I asked him about a parking spot, then was very rude to our entire group of 10+ families Saturday night that stayed there for a basketball tournament. We go back to Milwaukee every year for this tournament but will NEVER even consider staying at this site again.

Other things that made this stay unsatisfactory was there was 2 of the 4 light bulbs in the bathroom where out, our door key kept not working and they blamed it on the battery being dead in the electronic lock, multiple outlets didn’t work in our room (223), and lastly they have a coin operated washer and dryer but didn’t have a change machine and refused to exchange quarters at the front desk.

Totally disappointed with this stay! Not even for sure why I’m writing this review as nothing will come out of it!

Horrible

The hotel was filthy our room smelled horrible! I will say the lady that worked the bar/restaurant was amazing! The pull out couch was so uncomfortable for my son I had to pile blankets on it to try and make it better!

Unclean, uncomfortable, and front desk staff that was clearly not paid well enough to care. Staying here has had a sever negative effect on my impression of the Holiday Inn brand as a whole.

The first red flag was at check in. The woman checking me in nearly had me sign for the incidentals of another room. After letting her know that the name on the form wasn't mine I had to ask her multiple times to confirm she had my name correct and my reservation.

We booked a suite with kitchenette for our family a week long stay so we could have the convenience of having a full fridge and kitchen. The listing for the room promised pans and utensils with the kitchenette but none were in the room at check in. Despite booking the room for 3 guests there were no sheets or pillows in the room for the pull out couch and there were not enough towels for all 3 of us. When I called the front desk to resolve this issues the woman on the other end did not seem interested in taking down my list and rushed me off the phone saying multiple times that she would let housekeeping know.

The woman from house keeping (the most pleasant staff member of the visit) showed up with no idea what was wrong because the front desk had not passed on our issues. She had to go back to get the linens for the bed and brought us a few pans for cooking (no towels but we had forgotten to tell this second person the entire list of issues). Be warned though, she said they no longer include the kitchen items promised in the room listing because they are phasing out those rooms. A potential bait and switch. We had to take a trip to a nearby store to get the rest of what we needed to actually utilize the kitchenette we'd already paid for.

After a few days our toilet inexplicably clogged (there were only fluids in it at the time), thankfully I was quick enough to shut off the water before it was too bad. I called down to the front desk and they again rushed me off the phone with no word as to what or when the resolution was. 20+ minutes later I had to call again and another woman (I believe the manger) told me she was sending someone up. He unclogged the toilet but then only mopped up the water with towels. I asked him if someone was going to clean the floor and he said that housekeeping was gone and they didn't know where the mop was. (WHAT?!) My wife ended up mopping the floor with soap and a towel and disinfectant wipes we brought ourselves.

As we stayed in the room it became clear that it was not properly cleaned. there were fingerprints and grime everywhere (especially near door handles where hands touch the walls) and there was even food stuck on the underside of one of the couch cushions.

During the trip at one point both our keycards stopped working. This is typically a minor forgettable annoyance any other time but, it just added to the list of irritations for this stay. The front desk was quick to replace them though.

The last annoyance to top it all off is that you will struggle to find parking in their lot. Most of the spaces appear to be rented out for their airport shuttle program leaving very few, if any, spaces for their actual guests. One night we returned after dinner I had to park in the lot along a driving lane because there were no spots at all.

I just can't say I've ever had a hotel stay so unpleasant and so below expectations. Our last stay in a holiday in was pleasant, clean, and modern. This stay was the opposite. Being in hotel was a source of stress, not a place to relax after busy days around town. Mostly because if I felt I had a problem it didn't feel worth dealing with the front desk.

Needs help

If you flew into Milwaukee and stayed here it would not be the best representation of the city. The front desk was often vacant. There seemed to be a lot of disrepair. The maintenance supervisor was the brightest star of our stay. He could use a team 10 to cover all he needs to do. The bathrooms by the pool could both use to be addressed. There is no adequate lighting for reading in the rooms. The veneer was pealing off of the dresser. The refrigerator had no bars on the door to hold beverages. We had a room for 4 and had towels for 2. Your lobby is the star of the hotel.

Oh well

The hotel itself is fine and a reasonable place to stay before or after a flight out of Gen. Mitchell. The front desk staff, not so friendly. I had to call from an airport to request a change to my reservation for the next day since my flights were cancelled and could not fly until the following day. Gave my name for the reservation and the person insisted I did not have a reservation. I hung up, searched for my reservation number and called back. The reservation was found and changed. Next day, I sent an email (no phone reception at the airport) to indicate the flight was further delayed and I would be arriving after 11PM. Arrived at the hotel just before midnight and of course the front door was locked. I tapped and was told, "use your keycard", to which I answered, I'm checking in. Was told 3 more times to use my keycard (person did not look up from the desk). Finally another front desk person opened the door. NOT the way to greet a weary traveler!

Great Staff!

We visited last week and there was an issue with our reservation....the front desk staff rectified it quickly and efficiently and we ended up having an awesome time. What started out a little sketchy turned out to be relaxed and wonderful. Marisela and her team are there to provide the best customer service and they sure did for us! Thanks for an awesome time, we've stayed with you in the past and will continue to book with this property!

Amazing staff

I can’t say enough good things about our staff front front desk to kitchen staff. We absolutely loved the hotel. The room and bathroom was very nice and updated clean and smelled great!! The staff definitely made the trip phenomenal as they were so welcoming!! I wish I could remember their names but they worked 12/11/21 and helped us with breakfast
