The Parc du Cinquantenaire is an impressive park created in 1880 to mark Belgium's 50th anniversary. Only years later, in 1905, the park with its iconic triumphal arch was completed. Today, you can view exhibitions, visit markets, picnic, walk, jog, or visit one of its museums: the Royal Museum, Autoworld, and the Museum of Art and History. Moreover, the park acts as both the starting and finishing point of the 20 km of Brussels.

The Royal Palace of Brussels is the king's official workplace and is mainly used for state visits, audiences and royal receptions. The royal family lives in the Castle of Laeken. Every year, from July to September, the palace is open to the public and you can go and admire the magnificent salons, the Hall of Mirrors and the Throne Room yourself.

The Grand Place, in the heart of Brussels, is by far the most beautiful square in Europe, dating back to the 12th century. Back then, it was a place where merchants sold their wares and you can still see this today in the richly decorated guild houses around the square. You can go there for a bite to eat and a drink, and various events take place here throughout the year. Be sure to come back in the evening when the Grand Place is fairy-tale-lit.
