Songhua Lake, also known as Fengman Reservoir, is located on the Songhua River in Jilin City, Jilin Province. It is the largest lake in Jilin Province. It is an artificial lake formed by blocking the Songhua River in 1937 to build Fengman Power Station. In 1988, Songhua Lake was approved as a National key scenic spot by the State Council.
