Experience the magic of Niagara Falls, which consists of three waterfalls: Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls. Horseshoe Falls is on the Canadian side, and it’s the largest of the three, with a width of about 640 metres and a height of 57 metres. That’s taller than the Leaning Tower of Pisa! The Welland Canal is an important waterway that connects Lake Ontario and Lake Erie and is part of the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Seaway System. It helps move goods between the Atlantic Ocean and the interior of North America, including Canada. As beautiful as it is useful, you can enjoy walking or biking the Welland Canal Parkway Trail in the summer or cross-country skiing it in the winter.

Visit one of the most historic vineyards in the region, Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery, a family-owned winery. The Lowrey family has owned the farm and vineyard since 1867. The estate’s 34 acres grow organic grapes, including Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. Visit the estate to sip organic wines, go on guided tours, and eat fresh, farm-to-table food at the family’s restaurant.

Just one block from Niagara’s Horseshoe Falls is a world of wonder: Clifton Hill, also known as the Street of Fun by the Falls. If you’re brave, ride the Niagara SkyWheel and soar up 175 feet for panoramic views of the falls. Tour all the strange and interesting things at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum, check out local restaurants and shops, or experience nightlife, Niagara style.

Queen Victoria Park is a historic and gorgeous park established in 1888, and it sits right across from Horseshoe Falls. Enjoy wandering through well-maintained gardens growing all sorts of plants and flowers from Canada and around the world. In the spring, don’t miss the park’s display of 500,000 daffodils. With walking paths, benches, and tasteful landscaping, the park is a perfect place to enjoy the waterfalls.
