You can learn all about the city's maritime and industrial history at the fascinating Discovery Museum, three minutes' walk from the hotel. The rolling moors and rugged peaks of Northumberland National Park are only 40 minutes away, and you can have a great day out exploring on foot, by bike or even on horseback.
