Bremer Schnoorviertel
The Schnoorviertel is Bremen's oldest district with listed houses, narrow alleys and nooks. The old town quarter owes its name to the many small houses and stores that are lined up like on a string. For "Schnoor" is Low German and means "string". Stroll past the numerous stores, restaurants and cafés and enjoy the cozy, quaint atmosphere.
Die Schlachte
The Schlachte refers to the Weser promenade, which is located in the middle of Bremen and directly on the Weser. With its maritime flair and numerous gastronomic offers, it is the meeting place for young and old, residents and tourists. The term "Schlachte" goes back to the Low German word "Slait", used to describe the pile-like structures that served to fortify the banks of the Weser in the 13th century.
