My stay at the Holiday Inn Murphysboro was excellent. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Check in was easy. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. My only suggestion regarding the room is that the closet bar should be attached higher in the closet. I had a long dress that I needed to hang up and it was bunched up in the bottom of the closet because the bar was positioned half way down the inside of the close and not at the top of the closet. The bathroom was clean and the shower was great. The breakfast was delicious and so many options it was hard to choose what to eat. The greek yogurt was very much appreciated as most hotels only offer regular yogurt. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay.

The HI Express in Murphysboro, IL is one of, if not the best HI Express! I have stayed at this HI Express in the past and the greetings, professionalism and attentiveness of the staff is outstanding!!

The woman working at the front desk went above and beyond when we were $1 short for our snacks from the snack store. The sign had the bags of chips listed at $2 but they had recently been increased to $3 and the sign had not been changed. I offered to go back to my room to get the additional dollar, and instead, she reached into her own wallet and paid the additional dollar. Even my 9yo daughter was impressed and told me "Mom, we HAVE to give a review on her. 5 stars!!" So thank you for going above and beyond, and letting my daughter know there are still kind people in this world. We will definitely stay here again based solely on this woman's kindness. Thank you.

Staff was prompt and accommodating. Thank you Jacie. The chef was often checking on the food. He asked if he could help in anyway. There was a day shift staff member who was accessible in the lobby. On the weekend there were a young female and male housekeeper on the 4th floor who were very friendly and ready to help with providing fresh towels and taking rubbish. There was also a friend night shift lady on the weekend (Jacie was off) who had a big smile and was also welcoming to offer help. The gym was clean. With a college baseball team in house, the hotel was still relaxing, fun and quiet.
