Filthy rooms & grumpy staff

1st room was filthy & tstat don’t work so we moved to another room. It was equally nasty with trash in the closet, sticky floors, hairs in the shower & toilet, & stains on the bed duvet. The staff was grouchy, & seemed bothered by our requests.

Overall experience was okay. The first room wasn't cleaned well, so we requested, and were given, a new room.The beds were comfortable. Since they are suites where you are able to cook and eat in having chairs would be nice. We had to request more and received plastic patio chairs. The staff were very accommodating though and helped with whatever we needed. The pool was nice and clean.

I made a last minute decision to stay in Erie. After reviewing several hotels in the area I selected Candlewood Suites. BEST DECISION EVER.
Clean, friendly and large rooms

The large room was clean and tidy and included everything we needed to create a home away from home. The front desk staff was very polite and helpful and I felt safe in and around the hotel. Conveniently located close to shops, places to eat and Erie.

Honestly, we stayed here because it was a little cheaper than the Holiday Inn Express up the road. It’s not bad, no fee breakfast, but it was $30 cheaper so that was worth that price. Also thought it might be closer to town, but that was a minor difference.
Room was fine, open and spacious with tall fridge and micro and huge desk. WiFi was spotty.
Overall, decent value.

GENERAL MANAGER JENNIFER NEDDS TO BE FIRED THIS WOMAN HAS Poor customer service Skills kicked me A handicap person in A wheelchair My wife partially Dissabled my mom 79 years old barely can walk all over some sheets this Jennifer kicks out any guest who gets mad and complains this is unexceptable no one should stay at this hotel unless you have no brain staff is rude and don't do there jobs The general Manager has no customer service Skills and is very rude and needs to be fired I was in customer service for 40 years this is the worst hotel I ever stayed at my whole trip to Erie was ruined because of this hotel I spoke with the police In the area they told me there at hotel all the time because Jennifer the GM doesn't like when people complain or get mad about service from the Hotel The cops will be called this is A disgrace of A hotel corporate needs to come in and clean house.
Smelled like Mold and Cigarettes

So many issues. Room smelled strongly of mold and cigarettes. Shower curtain was filled with mold. Didn't have any bath towels, only hand towels. Carpet was stained. Bed was messy. Internet didn't work so when we went to the desk they just gave us a room card with someone else's name on it. Will never stay here again when we visit family. We almost slept in the car instead. The only saving grace is that the sheets seemed clean. Bed like like cement.
When we first arrived the front desk was NOT friendly and chose to sing out loud to the music on the radio vs. greeting us as an IHG member.
Like I said the room was not clean and it smelled like weed

The room was dirty and smelled like weed the breakfast area was not organised like it should be and it was dirty, asked for help and I was ignored. This the first time something like this happened to while on the road.

The staff is amazing! I've stayed here before and they have always been attentive and friendly. The rooms seem to keep getting dirtier. I understand there are some things that can't be helped, but the orange and black mold in the showers from lack of cleaning, dirty towels and comforters are a bit much.

It was so so bad! Really really bad... struggling to find something positive to say about it...never in a month of Sundays would I go back! Our trip was ruined staying there... couldn't wait to get home or even just away!

East check in and the kitchenette was fully stocked and functional. Made it easy to travel with a six week old.
