My 2 night stay was actually terrible. There were multiple parties going on both nights, and then to top it off, there is a rooster on the adjacent property that wakes you up at 6AM every morning. The walls are so thin you can hear everything. My A/C would not cool down below 75 degrees despite setting to lower temperatures. I would set it to 73 degrees and for a while the A/C would kick in, but when I would return to my room later in the day, the A/C was set to 75 again. Same thing over night. It's almost like 75 is the default and after an hour or so, no matter what temp you set the thermometer to, it would revert back to 75. The breakfast was absolutely atrocious. I mean, the protein option on one morning was bacon bits.... not bacon, but bacon bits. Ugh, it was gross. I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel.

Very nice !! Close to VCU sheltering arms..( there's closer, but we chose to stay here. Didn't disappoint)

Bad breakfast. Bad sausage, bad eggs, late service about one hours. And pancakes or waffles. Juicy station and coffee were good.

We had a wonderful stay at the avid hotel! The room was very clean with a pleasant, modern interior design that made the room feel spacious. Additionally, the staff were very friendly and accommodating to requests regarding the room location. The breakfast was nice as well. Overall, my family and I enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend avid hotels to others :)

Friendly staff, clean rooms, low flow shower . I thought there was construction going on upstairs but it was (I’m assuming) kids running back and forth across the floor and riding the deck chair and it got pretty loud in my room. So next time I’d ask for a room on the top floor.

The hotel is clean and my room and stay was very good.Breakfast is included in your stay and the prepared food was satisfying . My only complaint there should be a microwave either in the room or on the floor where your room is located because you have to go to the main lobby to warm food items. Otherwise, I was completely satisfied with the friendliness of the staff and service .

Not sure I would recommend this hotel or use it myself again. The staff at check-in was unprofessional, had an attitude and was difficult to work with, not just with me but to the two guests before me and the one who checked in after me. They refused to use the card I booked the reservation with, and claimed that it wasn't paid for ahead of time, even though I received confirmation that my business card was accepted at the time of booking. There was no information provided from my booking that I was traveling with my pets, and the way the staff handled the process for addressing this was not appropriate. I've stayed in these hotels before and never had this much issue, but I guess you get what you pay for. The hotel overall is fine and accommodating as a budget hotel right off the highway, although the rooms are very small and tight for more than one person or for any pets. My room at this particular hotel was mostly clean but the bathroom floor was sticky like it had some sort of residue on it, so I didn't walk barefoot if I could help it.

Staff was friendly but when we checked in our room around 10:30pm our room smelled of cleaning bleach and the room was 76 degrees. I set the room down to 70 and by the time we went to bed at 12:00am the room had adjusted nicely. At 4:00 I woke up in a sweat and I could smell an electrical burning smell I realized when the thermastat said it was 76 degrees and it was blowing hot air. I tried to go back to sleep but at 6:00am the room had gotten up to 79 degrees and we could no longer stand it. We checked out at 6:30am. I let staff know and they put in a work order but because the room was unbearable to be in we decided to check out and leave as soon as we could. I will not be returning.
