Good Hotel In A Good Location

The Avid hotel is located 10 minutes from the Amusement Park and the Chocolate World Factory. Check in was a breeze (though I was not recolonized for my Elite status - not that it’s a big deal but proper). The rooms are average for an IHG but since it’s new it was clean. Closet space is tiny. Very tinny. It’s really just a hook system not a closet you open/close so don’t expect to hang shirts or anything. Tv is nice. Bathroom needed a bit more attention but not bad. The shower is nice (not over the top) but it has glass doors and not a curtain or walk in where the shower water sprays all over the floor. Breakfast was just fine. Nothing amazing by any means but you eat breakfast without having to pay to go elsewhere unless that’s what you want. It’s what you would expect from an IHG.

Good service, poor quality hotel

The the staff was responsive to requests, but they were often limited on what could be done. Though it was a non-smoking hotel, several rooms smelled like cigarettes. Non-working outlets in all rooms we inhabited. Low-quality/low-option breakfast. Bare bones rooms poorly cleaned (found hair in bathroom and nail clippings on floors). No closets. Overall, a pretty poor experience for my family.

Good location, clean room, hotel was updated and nice. Decent breakfast and friendly staff. Nice bathroom, good TV service and size, bed was comfortable. Pet friendly and everything worked as it should.

Breakfast has so much to desire. Same things every day and not much selection. Noise level is unbearable. Hotel staff was good.

Clean Hotel

We stayed one night after a trip to Hershey park very clean new hotel comfortable beds clean bathrooms nice little indoor pool . The only thing the breakfast was over too soon with young kids it would have been till at least 10:30 but it ended at 9:30 otherwise everything was fantastic will stay again

Nice room but leaves things to be desired

The room is nice and comfortable and was generally great for our stay. However, it seems the hotel is very understaffed. We booked two rooms and our second room was not yet cleaned an hour after check in time. We left to attend a concert and didn't return until after midnight. At that time, we were able to check in but when we got to our room it had obviously been slept in and hadn't been touched since the last guests had left. It took over an hour for them to clean a new room for us and we had to wait in the lobby for over an hour while we were exhausted from travelling and a concert. I appreciated the front desk doing everything they could to get the new room clean for us, but they should have rooms ready at check in time or at least not give out dirty rooms.

Breakfast was good and they were constantly replacing food when it was out. The bathroom was nice and the beds were very comfortable. Everyone on staff I interacted with was very friendly. However, while we stayed there, no one came in to clean our rooms.

Excellent New Hotel

Hotel was clean, staff were very pleasant and helpful. The check in staff (Jai) was very helpful, friendly and knowledgable. Room clean. I liked that there was not carpet on the floor, more sanitary, especially if traveling with a dog. Bed was not particularly comfortable, could be better. It would be nice to include a better chair to sit in other than an office chair. Refrigerator (no freezer) was tiny, also could be in a better location than on a bottom shelf that is basically on the floor, not easy to access. A microwave would be helpful. Dog potty area was sufficient. Poop bags provided. Breakfast was average. The eggs were below average, the bacon crumbles were unusual, they were hard and fake tasting. The rest of the breakfast items were average. Overall it was a pleasant experience, I would definitley stay again.

For a new or "now open" hotel it was a let down. Bathroom was dirty and not cleaned well. Hair on the sink on the floor and in the shower. Sink was dirty. Pillows were horrible , no support at all regardless of a soft or firm pillow. AC unit was always blowing and impossible to keep the temperature from getting too hot to too cold. The air blew right on your face when sleeping. Elevator was messy.

Breakfast was a huge disappointment. Not many choices. Usually IHG properties have a decent selection this one did not.

No hot shower or water pressure. Would not stay here again very disappointed. I stayed at one in Boston and was elated that is why I chose AVID this time.
