Terrible Room smelled musty. No remote for tv. Called front desk and he said to come to front desk for a remote. Had to get dressed. Got another remote, did not work at all. Went back down. Got another remote. Kinda worked but could not select a channel. Front desk said to bad. Did all he could do. Breakfast was a disaster. No food dirty.

The room was small, which is okay. The air conditioner was very noisy and frequently disrupted my sleep. Every time the compressor started for the air conditioner, it sounded like somebody kicked the whole thing and then the diffusers on it rattled terribly. On the plus side, the room was cleanup to date. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was okay, but could have used more counter space.

We had a great stay at the Avid Hotel in Hays - driving I-70, it was a welcome stop right next to highway. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly, as was the breakfast crew. The room was modern and well-appointed from hooks on the wall to Dove products in the bathroom. We had our pup with us and there were plenty of grassy walking areas around the hotel for her. Pleasantly surprised with the overall hotel and the convenience and price.
Dirty and Gross!

On our way up to our room, the elevators and hallways were so dirty that I feared what we would find when we got to the room. Unfortunately, it was very dirty. The towels appeared to have been picked up off the floor from the previous guest and stuffed back in the cubbies (unfolded) and thrown on the hooks. There were hairs on the bathroom floor, as well as spots that proved it had not been mopped. The counter was wiped but the smear of something was remaining. The beds had hair on the sheets and one of them had spots that could be seen and felt. It seemed as though the place had been "freshened up" slightly between guests, but definitely not cleaned! It smelled consistent with that observation as well. I could not sleep because I was so grossed out. I would have absolutely left the property and not stayed, had I not been traveling with my 85 year old father with dementia who was totally confused about the whole situation. We were traveling from CO and stopped to sleep for the night.

Our stay at the Avid hotel was pleasant. We have stayed at this hotel before and will continue to stay here when traveling this was. Staff was friendly, hotel was clean and breakfast was adequate. Not much room to sit while eating breakfast, but the prices of staying there was very reasonable.
Easy place to stay.

Good location off the freeway.
Decent restaurant close by if you want to drive.
Good pet area in back of hotel. Could use better lighting.

I walked into the room and there were crumbs on the floor. There were no washcloths and one of the towels was damp. I left a note for the housekeeper and I have not heard from the hotel. This place is usually a pretty nice place to stay but it wasn’t this time. It is too expensive for what you get and where it is located.

The room was clean and the facility was nice. The staff was very friendly. As this was our first time in an Avid, we were a bit surprised by how small the room is. I would be willing to stay again, but I can't say Avid would be my first choice.

Kareem recommended some great local places to eat and was friendly, professional, and quick at checking me in. I appreciated him offering me some amenities and recognizing my Diamond Elite status. The room, swimming pool, and fitness center were all very tidy and in good shape. The breakfast area was spotless and well stocked with food, despite the morning rush of travelers. When I checked out, Elinda was quick to offer me a receipt, thank me for my stay, and wish me safe travels.
