Needed a weekend away somewhere quiet but near good food, good views, and good friends. Perfect hotel for a quiet stay, slept great, close to restaurants. Had breakfast on Old Orchard Beach and wandered the Old Port - both nearby. Just book it - you won't regret it!

I have stayed several times over the past 2 years. The location is very convenient to the highway for points North and South. Convenient to S. Portland, Portland, Scarborough/Pine Point beaches. Grocery within walking distance. The facility is clean but a little worn; carpeting, furniture, comforters. The beds/pillows very comfortable! Everything in working order. Kitchen supplies adequate and anything else needed is readily available upon request; crockpot, food processor, waffle maker, wine glasses and corkscrew. The hotel and neighborhood feel safe but I feel doors to hotel should be locked except for lobby door. The staff is friendly and accommodating. This hotel is a very very good value for the price. Only complaint I have is they do not provide “smart“ TVs so that you can sign into your own streaming platforms. This is actually somewhat of a bummer for me.

I love Candlewood because not only are the rooms clean and comfortable, but the staff is always pleasant, and they allow ESAs (which is a must for me).

The service was fantastic, the room was very clean, hotel was easy to find and I had no troubles. The only problem I found was that the bed was a bit stiff and the keyboard door to enter the stairwell was unlocked the entire time.

Foul cooking odors, penetrated room and stunk it up, old run down furniture, old nasty, smelly carpeting, rugs, No breakfast option, not greeted as an IHG member, Zero deodorizer for room stink available, short staffed, zero security.
Poor Security of Hotel

There was no security of the building at 0330 when I had to pack the car with my bags. Anyone could have walked into the foyer and into the lobby as the entrance doors were not locked. Poor management of the security systems and therefore a dangerous situation for the hotel guests

I have stayed at numerous IHG hotels and have always loved them! This was a disappointment. The response from the desk to go into the shower to use the soap was ridiculous! Is this the norm?

Very comfortable bed. Beautiful water front view. Enjoyed the jacuzzi. Saw NCL cruise ship in harbour.

It's a little off the touristy path, but that's what is nice. It's quiet and comfortable but an easy drive to everything we wanted to see and do. Our room was nice and well cared for.
