Taihu Lake, also known as Zhenze or Juqu, is one of the five major freshwater lakes in China with an area of over 2,400km, and is listed as a key National Scenic Area of China. Yuantouzhu, meaning “turtle-head-shaped peninsular”, is located in the northwest of Taihu National Park of China in Wuxi. As there is a colossal rock protruding into Taihu Lake like a swimming turtle raising its head, hence its name Yuantouzhu. Now it is among the main attractions in Taihu Scenic Area.
