Requirements for participation in TACP

IHG partners require recognized accreditation with organizations such as ARC, IATA, TIDS, TRUE, and CLIA. Most active members of these organizations are automatically eligible to receive consolidated commission payments.      

Note: Agencies in New Zealand and Australia must contact Commission Services to set up electronic payment to become eligible for commission payments.

Commissions are paid for completed stays booked at eligible commissionable rates when the agency’s valid accreditation number is included at booking and the agent is actively enrolled in TACP at checkout.

Agents must be active participants in the Travel Agent Commissions Program (TACP) at the time of checkout to be eligible for commission processing. While IHG facilitates centralized commission payments on behalf of participating hotels, commission payments are not guaranteed by IHG.

Dedicated Support and Service: Enjoy program features and dedicated assistance designed to support travel agents and enhance their experience.

Transparent Fee Structure:  A standard 3.5% processing fee is applied to commissions (for example, reducing a 10% commission to 9.65%) to support program features and maintain high-quality service for travel agents.

The commission payment process is based on the hotels' daily checkout records, and payments are processed on a weekly cycle through our intermediary processor, Onyx CenterSource. Payments are generally received 3 weeks after checkout. The accreditation/membership number must be included at the time of booking.

IHG will only accept inquiries for missing commissions up to 24 months after guest departure. Inquiries can be submitted directly through the  Commission Payment Inquiry form and should include the following information:

•  IHG Hotel Code (required) [Lookup provided in form]

•  Guest name (required)

•  Arrival / Departure dates (required)

•  IHG Confirmation # 

Onyx CenterSource members must submit inquiries directly to Onyx CenterSource.

IHG sends all booking records with a valid accreditation/membership identification number (ARC, CLIA, IATA/TIDS, TRUE) to Onyx.

If Onyx cannot locate any record of your booking(s), it is likely your TCID # was not attached when the booking was made.  In that case you will need to contact the hotel directly to have your TCID # added to the booking.

If you are an Onyx CenterSource member agency, log on to Onyx Centersource to request a reprint of your remittance. If you are not an Onyx member, Contact Commissions Services to request a reprint.

Our centralized commission payment process offers travel agents the convenience of receiving a single payment in their local currency where available, accompanied by one consolidated statement and a dedicated contact for any inquiries.

For faster commission payments, enroll in Electronic Payment with IHG Commission Services. If you'd like to learn more or switch from check payments to electronic payments, simply Contact Commission Services. Our secure enrollment process uses DocuSign to safely collect and verify your banking information.

Please note that IHG hotels outside the United States typically operate in the local currency of their country. If you book a reservation at a property that uses a different currency than your selected payment currency, the “local currency” field on your statement will assist you in reconciling the booking with the actual commission amount paid.

Transient bookings must be invoiced by the agencies to Six Continents Hotels, Inc. without UK VAT and paid/processed via the IHG centralized Travel Agent Commissions Program.

Commissions for groups and meetings, including those on ancillary revenues covered by specific hotel/agency agreements, are managed directly between the hotel and the travel agent and are not processed through the IHG centralized Travel Agent Commissions Program. Hotels are responsible for all payments and handling agency inquiries related to these group and meeting bookings.

Ancillary revenues include, but are not limited to:

• Group and meeting room charges

• Associated sleeping room nights booked under group rate categories

• Equipment rentals

• Food and beverage services

• Day delegate packages
