It is a historic hacienda estate located in the municipality of San Salvador el Verde, in the state of Puebla. Established in 1777, it passed through various owners over the years before coming under the ownership of the Puebla state government and being transformed into a tourist center; notable features include a lagoon and an English-style palace, alongside other attractions such as constant contact with nature.

It is the home stadium of the Club Puebla and Club de Fútbol Cruz Azul teams from the Mexican First Division. It has hosted World Cup matches on two occasions: 1970 and 1986.

It is a center for conservation, education, and interactive entertainment. It houses over 300 species and thousands of marine and terrestrial animals distributed across various ecosystems. In addition to animal viewing, it offers extreme activities, workshops, and a farm.
