Rated 5,0 out of 5,0 by friendly staff the managers room was near ours and when i hesitated at my door because I had forgotten my swipe card he located my room no with his mobile and let me in with his pass key. A very noble gesture which saved me a long walk. 14. November 2014
Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Overnight Stay The hotel is a lovely hotel, staff are lovely very friendly and helpful which I liked... The bedding was badly marked and the bedside chest of drawers were broken.. Noisy at 02.40 in the morning with one women shouting down the corridors (not the hotels fault). Would recommend it but would tell them to make sure bedding was clean as it was disgusting. Bathroom outstanding 13. November 2014
Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Motorway Break Overall it was ok, however, the building has no atmosphere . . . more like an airport departure lounge. Breakfast was not really upto the Holiday Inn mark . . . it was a buffet and the eggs had been left for too long on the hotplate and were the consistency of frizzbees and the waiting staff seemed surprised that I would want freshly fried eggs . . . the cold selection was also a bit sparse . . . I asked for a pot of tea . . . which arrived and held barely one cup ot tea . . . and it took rather longer than seems reasonable for a waiter to respond to my request for a refill . . . staff seemed more concerened with admin than with the guests . . . there was a constant clatter of carelessly handled cutlery and crockery . . . and at one stage a trolley full of used dishes was trundled past my table . . . I accept that tables need to be cleared . . . but it should be done discreetly and without disturbing guests who are enjoying a leisurely breakfast 11. November 2014
Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Rover As usual enjoyed our stay at hotel. Dining room staff excellent and very friendly and helpful. Only problem is the waterproof mattress cover not being quite large enough to fit mattress smoothly. 8. November 2014

Any room service order carries a tray charge, which I found irritating but the food was very good. Breakfast sausages were terrible, I'm not sure what the pork content was but any meat was well disguised! A shame as the rest of it was really nice. 7. November 2014
Rated 2,0 out of 5,0 by Poor customer service Reception staff were excellent. Bar manager had appalling customer care skills. The room was smelling of damp and the bathroom showed its age. This made what was a nice looking rural setting hotel to turn my family off. This was below the standard we had experienced in our travels and stays with IHG hotels. 6. November 2014

Rated 3,0 out of 5,0 by Good location but persistent problems with dinner service Unfortunately each visit to this hotel results in a problem with the kitchen/dinner service. Having arrrived early evening, I was unable to book in as following a delay in the restaurant answering the phone - they informed the reception they would call back and reception would call me in my room. This did not happen. I went to the restaurant area and myself and another guests waited for 10 minutes to be seated. My dinner order was taken down incorrectly and had to be returned when the waiter presented it. I ordered a dessert and after 25 mins reminded the staff I was waiting for it. I was not the only one experiencing problems - there were complaints coming from other tables. The dining area is never full, I can only assume that there is minimal kitchen staff which drives the hotel to avoid booking more than about half a dozen tables at a time - clearly business travellers will be wanting to eat somewhere between 7-8.30 pm before retiring. The staff are always friendly and courteous but there is something fundamentally wrong with how the dinner service is managed and this really lets the hotel down. 5. November 2014
