Rated 2,0 out of 5,0 by Right Hand not knowing about Left Hand When calling the hotel directly to make a reservation, they quickly sent me to national reservations. Because we would be sending one of our employees to stay at this hotel, we inquired about the acceptance of a company check. National said that yes, this hotel does accept company checks. When the employee arrived, the front desk told him that they DO NOT accept company checks. Imagine the embarrassment we had when the employee told us this property wouldn't accept our check. This certainly could have been avoided if I was able to speak to this hotel directly because it never fails, the right hand never knows what the left hand is doing. This is a consistent problem and why I prefer to talk to each hotel individually but they were too busy to speak to me. The Holiday Inn hotel chain could use some valuable training in customer service for it needs some major improvement. 20. November 2014
Rated 3,0 out of 5,0 by good bed bath etc No recognition of status (IHG Platinum level) no newspaper at door friday or weekend . restaurant was poorly staffed for the level of guests utilizing this facility. Hotle was renovating a room 2 doors away from our room and the air was hard to breathe in the hallway. The fan in the bathroom was not working properly The sink was very slow to drain.If this remains I will have a hard time re-visiting even with no charge for parking, I have close family in the area and will return frequently to the Chucago area 19. Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Lovely hotel, OK value This hotel is quite beautiful upon entry. The rooms are just "OK" What is advertised as a suite is just an oversized guest room with either one king sized bed and couch (twin pullout) or two doubles and a chair with a lot of wasted floor space. There is a standard desk, TV, bathroom, microwave and minifridge. The executive tower is not quiet by any means so don't expect it. We had quite inebriated neighbors and a family with children on the opposing sides of our room the night before our early morning conference. The one absolutely fantastic thing about this hotel-- the pool. I've never been in such a warm pool. It was wonderful. Both the hot tub and the pool were amazing. I also used the fitness room and there were two treadmills, one elliptical machine, one bike, and a few free weights available. Small but adequate and updated. The hotel was close to Northwestern where our conference was held and in a reasonably safe neighborhood. I'm unsure if I would stay again but it was adequate for our needs. 18. November 2014
Rated 3,0 out of 5,0 by Quiet and comfortable room Overall I found the hotel accommodations clean and reasonably comfortable. My only criticism is the room was a little noisy due to the hotel guest in the room next to me and the noise from the indoor pool. I also found the food at the restaurant to be average to below average. Although the service and friendliness of the staff were excellent. I have stayed many times at the Holiday Inn Chicago North Shore and while it does not offer high-end accommodations, I found the rooms clean and reasonably comfortable and in general a good value for my money. 18. Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Great Location and Bar Louie inside! I enjoyed my stay quite a bit. I loved that there was a Bar Louie inside. I didn't have to drive to find a nice place to watch the game in the evening so I could enjoy a few beverages. 17. November 2014
Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Great front desk staff The front desk staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The first room was not acceptable to me and the front desk clerk met me on the floor and provided me with keys to another room. She stayed with me until I was sure it was acceptable. Very genuine in their helpfulness. 14. November 2014
