We are happy with our choice of hotel. Our stay was very pleasant. However, I would have been happier had they not withdrawn the full payment for the accommodation from my bank account before our arrival. Most hotels request payment for only one or two nights in advance. Emergencies happen, and if guests need to cancel their trips, they will not be refunded. For this reason I will think twice before I stay with Holiday Inn again.

My husband, teenage son, and I recently spent two nights here when visiting for our older son's college graduation. Parking was free and easy, and the lobby was immaculate. Check in was a breeze, and the staff was more than helpful. The gentleman who assisted us during our stay, Shein, was more than helpful. From providing us with complimentary toothbrushes and toothpaste because we had forgotten ours, to asking us for a room preference, we were pleasantly surprised by all the little perks. On the morning we were leaving for campus, I asked Shein where I could dispose of an empty water bottle. He gladly took it and replaced with a filled one, gratis. While we didn't use it, the pool looked huge and clean, and the fitness center was impressive. We will definitely be staying here on our next visit to the Chicago area!

My husband and I were supposed to spend two nights here but our trip was cut short due to a family emergency. The staff was very friendly and helpful, from the beginning to the end of our stay. When we arrived, staff called a taxi service for us to take us to our scheduled destination which was a huge help, as we were totally unfamiliar with the area. We were also able to check in a couple of hours early. When we were notified of our family emergency back home, the staff had no problem cancelling our additional night, with no extra charge for the cancellation. I highly recommend Chicago North Shore to those looking for somewhere safe, clean, and more affordable than surrounding areas. Again, the service and staff were exceptional!!

I have stayed a Holiday Inns before and expected this to be a wonderful experience. Upon arriving the front and entrance looked extremely nice. I had no issues checking in and they were helpful telling me where the best place to park so I am close to the room.
We drove to the back parking lot and made our way to our room on the 2nd floor. First thing I notice was the stairwell near our room had cigarette butts and spiders in it. (I have pictures) It made my daughters and I a bit disgusted.
Next, we noticed in the hallway a decent leak iin the water-damaged ceiling with a bucket catching water. (Again, I have pictures) I quickly felt like we were staying at some cheap motel instead of a nice Holiday Inn. There were also leaks coming from the ceiling not far from the pool area.
The good parts were that the beds were not uncomfortable and breakfast was very good. I am hoping that the kitchen is kept much cleaner than the area of the hotel that we stayed in. :)

- the room was very outdated in terms of colour, furniture and overall appearance
- The bed was extremely firm and uncomfortable
- the room had a stale/aged odour to it
- being on the ground floor, the outside noise was disturbing at times
- there was a broken laundry facility across from my room that had a buzzer going off every 15 minutes
- the room service was timely and accurate - not the best food ever, but satisfactory

Rooms are starting to look a little dated. My room was also a little dark, being pretty far away from the lobby.
