Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 1st class once again We've stayed here the last 4 years and have never been disappointed. The hotel has been re-furbishised to a high standard downstairs and the rooms are being done in the future, a wonderful stay booked again to go next year, staff friendly & helpful, set in beautiful grounds 30 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great improvements Have stayed in this holtel a couple of years ago and, although we enjoyed it then, the improvements made have made the hotel exceptional. The outside seating in good weather is lovely and we spent a whole afternoon sat outside enjoying the view with waiter service. highly recommend 30 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good choice for Stratford If you want a good hotel with perfect location for Stratford this is the one.Right in the centre all within walking distance of the town. The grounds are perfect for relaxing with plenty of seating next to the river. 30 August 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Chris - Carmarthen We would recommend this hotel but with some reservations. Make sure that you don't get a room that overlooks the extractor fans. The language skills of some of the housekeeping staff was limited. Faults in the bathroom were not understood. Otherwise our stay was enjoyable and the standard of cleanliness was excellent. 29 August 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ENJOYABLE FIRST VISIT TO A HOLIDAY INN There is not much we can say that was wrong with this Hotel. All staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were fine - so much choice and prefer a help yourself service. Our bedroom was very comfortable - wished we could have had the window opened though (Health and Safety I suppose). The only downside was hearing our next room guests arguing and shouting. This was because I think we had a dividing door between us and could hear everything. 29 August 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by very dated rooms This hotel advertised itself as refurbished which the general guest areas such as the restaurant, bar, and entrance were. However the rooms were very dated and not particularly clean. Aircon did not work nor did the bathroom vent despite the hotel placing a notice that did request you not to leave the bathroom door open. Staff could not direct me to Warwick Castle and googled every location request from us. Prior to this we had stayed at Holiday Inn Liverpool which we rated 10/10. Suggest Holiday Inn SUA take a trip to see the Liverpool operation. 28 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 2nd Visit Once again we were very impressed with the service and the facilities at this hotel. Everyone is extremely friendly and the hotel is spotless. This is our second time visiting and we are planning a third. The hotel is very well situated in Stratford so its easy to get to all the attractions of the town. Excellent. 28 August 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Breakfast Make sure you dont expect toast at the hotel, only bread - toasters useless 28 August 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good service-Recommended My wife and I stay at this Holiday Inn frequently and have always found the staff helpful and efficient. The rooms are quite acceptable although certainly not of a ‘boutique’ style, in fact traditional Holiday Inn. The car park seemed busier than usual and quite a few spaces were reserved for conference organisers, including an accessible bay which appeared to be unused for at least two days. Perhaps the organiser was disable perhaps not but it is galling for one guest to be given preference over others. We have just booked again online for another stay and contacted the reservations office to request two particular rooms as our daughter will be with us. This request was accepted in an efficient and competent manner—not my experience in so many other hotels 27 August 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Expectations An up to expectation visit to the splendidly located Holiday in for the equally pleasing Shakespeare experience. The Barretts 27 August 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Relaxing break Finally got the opportunity to stay at this hotel and was not disappointed. Staff overall are extremely friendly and helpful, the facilities are good and the whole hotel has a calming feel about it. Great relaxing break with the hubby. 26 August 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Short Break The location is great and this is generally a good hotel, although there were building works when we stayed. 25 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Hotel A superb hotel newly refurbished to a very high standard. Lovely in the Summer when you can sit out in the garden area and have a drink right next to the river. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will certainly put this hotel at the top of our list next time we are in Stratford on Avon. 24 August 2014
24 August 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice place to stay ...... This holiday inn provides the expected standard of comfort and facilities ..... My wife particularly liked the gym, and my children liked the pool. The location is excellent. Superb breakfast, only let down by having to get hot drinks from a machine rather than brought to your table by a human. 23 August 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent apart from wall to wall music Room/bed/facilities/service/food/staff all excellent. A choice of pillows was really good. The only criticism is the music played throughout the hotel. This is unnecessarily loud, especially in reception. There is even music outside in the garden and in the car park near the main door. Unlike other hotels in the area, there are no quiet areas to sit and read (or work) which is a pity as not everyone wants loud music all the time. I have stayed at the Stratford Holiday Inn a few times before and on this last occasion (August 2014) the music level was more intrusive than previous visits. The only quiet place was in my room! 22 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Better than expected stopover at the Holiday Inn Stratford We booked the Holiday Inn as a stopover after visiting Warick Castle for the day. It took at most 20 minutes to reach the hotel. Before we arrived we were aware of new refurbishment to the reception, lobby, bar, restaurant and outdoor areas but were amazed by the actual level of finish when we arrived! The ground floor areas were spacious, spotless and well maintained with decorators still touching up the smallest imperfections. We were quickly checked into our fair sized room that had all the expected items all in working condition. We booked a large double room with extra bed for the three of us but both beds were substantial in size with the double more like a king and the pop-up bed like any normal single bed. However they forgot to add an extra mug to the tray and my teenage son wanted an extra pillow to sleep with so we called down to reception and within 10 minutes they brought us up extra pillows and an extra mug with extra sachets. The evening restaurant menu was quite pricey but was worth the extra cost and the breakfast was well stocked with lots of choice where there was even a chef waiting to make omelettes to order in front of you. We made use of the pool and gym both in the evening and the next morning and found it to be not overcrowded or crammed with children which was a pleasant surprise considering the hotel was full. For a stopover at a Holiday Inn we definitely did not expect these standards and will certainly be returning! 21 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent service and receptiveness We were upgraded on arrival as our rooms were not on the same floor. The apology and change of room was handled with sensitivity and courtesy. We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed a lovely family get together. 20 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyable experience A very clean, attractive and modern hotel. Well situated for the town and amenities, and in a great location adjacent to the river. Park up the car, you wont need it. One lift still out of order awaiting spare parts. On arrival we found a couple of slight problems with the room, which couldn't be rectified due to it being weekend, but it didn't cause us any discomfort, and we were compensated on departure, which was much appreciated, as we didn't ask for, or expect anything. Room was comfortable and well equipped, although storage space a little limited, but adequate for the three nights of our visit. Food very good, especially breakfast (buffet#, which provided either full English or Continental, or both if you wished. We only had two evening meals, the first being buffet style.#Suggest you pick a time when the buffet is being well used to ensure the hot items are freshly cooked), Our second meal was set menu for two persons which we thought good value for a top hotel. We found all members of staff to be very friendly and helpful and couldn't be faulted. Overall a very enjoyable weekend, and would definitely stay here again. 20 August 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by terrible bed and bad service 2 x beds pushed together 2 x mattress rock hard bad room house keeping. breakfast plain bad service 20 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Location The Location of this hotel is excellent within easy walking distance for myself as my husband was in his wheelchair. As for the staff excluding my experience on arrival and my room problem I could not fault them , Excellent Hotel and after my stay in Stratfford we went on to stay in Holiday Inns in Milton Keynes Cambridge and Lincoln. . 16 August 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good location. near thater and Shakespeare's birthplace. lobby and wooddeck near liever are comfortable! 16 August 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by August holiday stay We recently stayed for one night. The hotel was undergoing refurbishment but that did not make any difference to our stay. The hotel lifts were out of action which did mean queues formed and using the stairs became necessary, which with luggage was not particularly easy to negotiate. The staff were very obliging and the time spent at the hotel was relaxing. 15 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable and great helps I did get stamach pain in the night, the front desk manager she was great helps to call emergency and help me reduce pains. 14 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel This hotel is excellent. We have stayed here many times. The staff are very friendly. The food and rooms are excellent and good value. I would recommend this hotel to anybody. 13 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic service Wonderful staff, really lovely refurb - great view of the river on the terrace. A relaxing stay. 13 August 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Reasonable experience with good food. I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Stratford with my partner recently. Overall I had a positive experience, there were some things which I found disappointing. When we first arrived there was a brown substance in the bath. I wiped it out and I'm pretty sure it was mud, around the size of a 50p, perhaps an accident from a cleaners shoe; but not the greatest of welcomes. The overall cleanliness was okay. I found the walls very thin; when the man in the next room decided to have an argument with his wife at 1.30am I could literally hear it word for word; and being close to the lift shaft wasn't the best. I could hear the mechanics every time it was used. Luckily, or perhaps unluckily because we were on the third floor, both lifts broke down on the second day of our stay. The size of the room was good and the bathroom was very spacious. The location of the hotel is ideal for accessing Stratford. It also worth noting that you could park for the whole stay for just £5 extra, this is fantastic as parking in Stratford isn't easy or cheap to find. The breakfast was superb, lots of choice with polite smiling staff and great tasting food. Overall I would return but those few things did disappoint me from a hotel chain with a good reputation and a hardly cheap price. 13 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very enjoyable stay From the moment we arrived we found staff friendly and helpful. We liked the public spaces, especially the riverside terrace. Room perfectly adequate, except for feeble shower. Location convenient. We'll certainly come again if we need to be in Stratford. 12 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely weekend break We only stayed the one night but would definately return the staff were very friendly and helpfull. The garden overlook the river so relaxing to sit out and have a drink 12 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Surprisingly good value hotel for Stratford Was surprised when booking at the good price I got on line and then to arrive and find a very high standard of Holiday Inn. It is very upmarket and looks and feels that way from reception/rooms/bar and restaurant area. Only downside was the staff seemed a little cold on reception and bar staff were OK but rather rude when we tried to get a drink just after midnight. It's a hotel people use, like us, when going to the RSC, so people might want to make a pleasant evening afterwards, not feel their evening was cut short. Otherwise would recommend a stay here for anyone attending RSC events. 12 August 2014
