Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel in the old city center I booked a guest room at the Holiday Inn Nürnberg where I visited some friends. They have an underground parking (€ 12 fee overnight) located under the hotel which is really convenient. The hotel is located near the Nürnberg redlight district which might be not the best place to start your evening walk ;-). My room got upgraded but it seemed pretty standard to me. Internet in the room was free. Anyway a good choice for a short sleepover in Nürnberg. 14 February 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location, great hotel, minor issues with room We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel is located within about a 15-min walking distance from the Hbf (if carrying luggage) and is within walking distance to city center. The hotel is not on the main streets so the surrounding area is fairly quiet (we stayed during week nights so it might be different during the weekend). It is, however, a few blocks from the "red-light" district, which we accidentally stumbled upon while walking back from the Christmas market. Nothing crazy and it didn't bother us, but just something to consider if that would bother you. The hotel had great customer service at the front desk and the hotel was very clean and well-maintained. The lobby supplied free coffee and tea daily until 9pm so you can take one to go on your way in/out. Our room was very clean and we consider it to be fairly spacious. The bathroom had heated tile floor which we absolutely loved. The only issue we had was with the electrical box located in our bathroom that started ticking in the middle of the night of our second night and kept waking us up We didn't call the maintenance people since it was the middle of the night but that's the only reason "sleep quality" wasn't as good as it could have been. Overall, we really enjoyed the hotel and we will look at staying here again the next time we come back. 07 January 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unfair Pricing Surprise add on of 25 Euro per night for my wife. Not including breakfast. It's too much. Add 15 euro for breakfast and my wife costs 40 Euro per night. That's outrageous! No mention in Amex travel tool of extra for double room.The standard uplift for a double in Europe is 20 Euro and that includes breakfast. Be fair ! Not sneaky. Location is iffy. Right in the midst of a very seedy red light area. 02 January 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by going downhill Stayed at this property many times over the past 4 years... unfortunately it appears to be taking a turn for the worse. as a platinum we were upgraded to a suite, which unfortuantely hadn't been dusted in years.... we even wrote words in the dust to see if the maid would notice..finally they did. The restaurant staff was very friendly and efficient. Front desk staff was friendly but not overly so... perhaps they were just beat down with all the tourist groups staying at the hotel. We travelled with two small dogs, and even though they charge one extra fee for having a dog in the room for "extra cleaning" - yeah with the dust we had checking ino the suite. They charged us per dog per night.... really? You clean the room once when one small dog is there? And twice when there are two? Really I think this hotel is past it's prime, and not a good deal for the money anymore...breakfast was ok, but not worth the extra cost in the undusted room rate. 01 January 2014
