The hotel itself is very clean and comfortable but I was very disappointed that no breakfast was available before 6:30 am.Given that this is supposed to be an airport hotel and that most people are staying there because they have an early flight,its not great is it? - you have after all paid for it in the price of the room. No internet available due to a supposed problem with the surver so I had to go across to an adjacent hotel to work from there - the wifi was free there ,(and quick) so I had my evening meal there. Ate nothing at the Holiday Inn Express so can't comment on the quality of the food. Reception staff generally unhelpful but if your earlier reviewer iscorrect and the hotel is owned by Manchester Airport then everything adds up - shouldnt be suprised that you have to pay for parking and transfers -why shoulld they provide early breakfast when they know they can rip you off at the airport for something you have paid for once already! I regularly stay at IHG hotels but this is one that I will avoid in future! 20 January 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overnight stay before long haul flight. We stayed and the Holiday Inn Express the night before a long haul flight from Manchester Airport. We were given a room on the third floor which was comfortable and provided everything we needed for a one night stay. The evening meal menu was varied enough to suit almost anyone's tastes and the complimentary breakfast was most welcome given our early morning flight. I would definitely recommend this hotel. 19 January 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Last minute Booking Despite a reasonably long delay checking in due to a faulty terminal the welcome was warm and genuine and efficient. The room was clean, no heating on when I arrived but soon warmed up and was quiet. I could not get the internet to work properly but I could have sorted it with reception but did not bother. The TV had no menu that I cud find so switching through channels was a chore but not that important. Bathroom was great - there is an issue of water running onto the bathroom floor from shower which was resolved by putting extra towel on the floor but great shower. Breakfast was great and free - a big bonus. No problem with parking with the exception of charge - it seems to me a little disingenuous to charge 5.00 to park overnight at a hotel where U can only access by car or bus from the airport. Put the parking in the room rate - it would still be a good rate and great value. I would stay here anytime - good location for me and service fine. 15 January 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Off peak price and parking charges I noticed when I enterred the hotel it was owned by Manchester airport .. SO NO GREAT SURPRISE AT PARKING CHARGE. Given time of stay would have thought price would be lower .. Will not go back to this particular hotel but will continue to stay in other HI that I frequently stay at . 12 January 2015
