Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great location and entrance to updated old hotel Very nice hotel with ample hot breakfast. Room was tiny though. No desk OR chair, just two beds, a dresser and a flat-screen tv. No hairdryer in the bathroom September 30, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel-Noisey Elevator Loved the location! However the elevator was noisey! Another problem was the stairs to the lobby. We did want to move our own luggage, but the steps arriving and leaving were a pain! Staff and room were excellent! September 26, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Smallest rooms ever! The location of this hotel is great, assuming you're traveling on leisure or business downtown. The valet service is ridiculous and $54! There isn't always a valet employee standing by when you pull up (if you can find room to pull up) so for first timers can be confusing. There are also no clear cut directions how to handle their valet service. My co-worker and I arrived to find no valet employee in sight. We waited 5min then he finally appeared. Since he was there I left my keys in the car assuming he would be getting in it to park. Once I got inside I noticed my car still sitting with nobody in it, maybe 10min went by. Then I get a tap on the shoulder by the valet employee and he rudely tells me to "never leave yours keys in the ignition out front, never, never do this again". Talked to me as if I was a 10yr old kid. I was stunned. If charging $54 to park a vehicle at the very least have an employee standing out front at all times to take your keys. The history of the hotel is really cool but the size of it's rooms does not work well for me. Your walkway consists of a foot or two between beds and maybe the same at end of beds. Bathrooms are tiny and no room to sit any toiletry items. This was my second time staying here, doubt I will try again for the 3rd time. September 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great! Excellent location. Good Value. Very clean. Great breakfast! September 23, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall A Decent Stay I stayed at this hotel for business and it was overall a comfortable stay. There were a few housekeeping things that could be improved, such as frayed towels, missing parts to the in-room coffee machine, and replacement of complimentary items after they were used. These staff was very friendly when entering the hotel and leaving. September 22, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location In walking distance to many Chicago must-see sights. Parking was a HUGE hassle and very expensive! September 15, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and breakfast! Small room Everything about this hotel was awesome. The staff were so friendly and courteous, the lobby was stylish, and the location in downtown was great - just 3-4 blocks from Michigan Ave. They also offered free breakfast in the morning til 9am. So much variety, and everything was delicious. We especially enjoyed the omelettes, juices, coffee, and pancakes. There was also free Wifi and they let us request a small fridge in our room at no added cost - which was so convenient. Staff were very friendly and understanding regarding our check-in times and were also helpful with telling us about local tourist spots. I felt like the staff cared about us! The only less favorable part about this stay was the small size of the room as well as some old earplugs left from the previous guests. The room was definitely very cramped for two people - I had to wait for my mom to pass through often to get to the other side of the room. Also, the old earplugs and a small piece of garbage was hidden under the coffee table - the cleaners clearly didn't get this from the previous guests. That was kind of gross. And oh, I forgot to mention - the windows in the room were kinda weird. I couldn't figure out how to open the windows without making them hang out awkwardly into the room (that sounds weird, I can't describe what the window was like without making it sound broken). Aside from those little knick knacks though, I've got to say the overall stay was fine. We aren't too picky. We loved the area, staff, and breakfast. :) September 15, 2015
