The staff at this hotel was amazing. They helped make our stay in Chicago memorable. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. The only drawback was the size of our room. It would have been okay for a lone traveler not for two (had a queen). I would recommend going with a larger room if two guests.

When I checked in at 12:30 am after a nine hour drive, the front desk clerk was amazing. He checked us in quickly, helped us get oriented to the hotel and put us on the elevator to our room with a big smile.
He made my day!

We really enjoyed our stay, from the moment we arrived we were greeted with helpful and friendly staff who take care of car, bags and dinner recommendations immediately. The room is small, but very clean and comfortable absolutely perfect for a stay in the heart of the city and all the convenience of being able to walk everywhere. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff went out of their way to make sure we had all we wanted and to keep things clean and full. We were only disappointed that housekeeping did not make up the room while we were out all day and turned up just before their quitting time while we were getting ready for dinner, unable to wait for us to leave we were simply handed some clean towels. Overall a very positive experience in a great city!

This hotel offers exceptional location within the Miracle Mile to shop, walk to restaurants and landmark locations. Rooms are small, but that hardly matters because the staff and service we had far outweighed the cramped quarters. Would definitely recommend the hotel, just travel with one suitcase.

We had a window in the bathroom that was very drafty and the temperature dropped into the teens at night. We had to close the bathroom door to keep the room warm when we went to bed but of course the bathroom was freezing in the morning. The rooms are very small but clean. No room to unpack anything and nowhere to store the luggage but a small closet. Not too big of a deal because we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. Loved the staff, very friendly and the complimentary breakfast was very good with a great selection.

Where to begin.
The hotel is in need of a renovation. The rooms are smaller than European hotels. The rate was more than doubled for the time when the FABTECH tradeshow was in town. The Valet parking service is a joke. They had 2 valets to retrieve cars on a busy morning when the hotel was completely filled. I was told it would take about 20 minutes to get my car, I finally got it after about 45 minutes.
The bed was so saggy and soft it was difficult to get any good sleep. The windows would not close good enough to keep the cold air out, so the heat was constantly running.
I am a Platinum Elite member and I was not treated any differently than a regular guest.
I would not recommend this location.

This hotel is very well positioned near the Magnificent Mile (great for shopping) heaps of places around to eat and very easy to get to via a shuttle bus.
Most rooms would get a great view, Bathrooms are well appointed and the shower is great. The bed was very comfortable and decent tv/cable channels.
Breakfast was good and I love the cinnamon scrolls!! You have to try them.
The only negative is the noise. Although the windows are double glazed I did hear sirens. And the noise from the corridors is quite audible. But I have to admit by 10pm or so the noise is not so bad and I did get good nights sleep the whole time I was there.
Would definitely stay there again!

We have been in Chicago many times at the airport for layovers, but this is the first time we have stayed in Chicago. The stay was very nice, and we plan to return. The staff at the hotel was great, especially the doormen, who suggested places for us to eat, and how to dress for the weather of the day.
The rooms are small, and not very soundproofed, but overall, every thing was very nice, and we would stay at the hotel again.

The cleanliness of the entire hotel from the lobby to the room was remarkable. I can honestly say it was the cleanest hotel I have ever seen. Good location to downtown for business, dining, and experiencing the city.

We got nothing short of excellent customer service from the minute we parked the car and walked in the door. Prompt and friendly greeeting, quick check-in, clean and bright room. Close to lots of things you want to see and do in Chicago. My only suggestion would be to get a room on a higher floor as the street noises started very early and made it a little hard to sleep in. Not the hotel's fault by any means. The rooms are small, but served our needs perfectly for a very reasonable price.
Thank you Holiday Inn Express for an excellent experience for our one-night get-away to Chicago.

The pillows we had were pretty bad. It was like someone opened up a bag of cotton balls and spread them out in the pillow case. I like the chain, but this particular hotel needs to upgrade this. Everything else was wonderful, however pillows are a huge part of sleep and since these were poor it made the entire stay fair.

Hotel Cass is perfectly positioned for the business traveller and offers a comfortable room kept in immaculate condition by the cleaning Staff. The Hotel shows none of its 90 years and it is nice to stay somewhere with this much history, in such a central location but without breaking the bank. Breakfast is plentiful, although go early to avoid the rush at the weekend, and beverages are available all day. The front desk Staff are helpful, knowledgeable and patient with both locals and tourists alike. All this and 2 minutes walk from the magnificent Mile. Well done Hotel Cass.

My wife and I checked out of the Intercontinental to find out that we had missed our train back to St. Louis and needed a basic room until 6am the next morning. We were both pleasantly surprised with the exceptional level of service given from check in to check out. Each staff member of the hotel gave us their full attention and made certain our stay was satisfactory. The location is perfectly centered around the best Chicago has to offer. The room and amenities were anything but basic and we were extremely satisfied with our stay. The Intercontinental staff should take some pointers from the staff at this hotel.

This hotel is nice in aspects (food, service, location, etc.) except that the rooms are very tiny. There is a very closet and a very tiny bathroom. Everything else about this hotel is very nice.

Hotel Cass is a great place to stay near by Magnificent Mile. I went there to run Chicago Marathon. The hotel is just 1,6 miles from the start/finish line, not bad. You can go walking within 15 minutes. And you are just 2 blocks away from subway station,Michigan Ave (Niketown, Garmin,Apple), 4 blocks away from John Hancock Center (The Cheese Cake Factory, The Northface). The room is kind of small, but is very clean, and remodeled. It is included on the rate a self service breakfast (coffee, tea, milk, juices, yogurt, cereal, eggs, sausage, pancake, cinammon roll, different kinds of breads, apple, banana). All employees were very kind and polite.
A great value for the stay.

This room was comfortable and clean, but SOOO tiny. Could barely put my bag down and had to 'scoot' around the bed to get to the bathroom. But for the price and amenities (free wifi and breakfast) it is a great deal in the middle of the Mag Mile.

I would definitely stay here again. The staff was helpful & considerate. I didn't do the valet parking because of the cost. Skip the breakfast and go to one of the local cafes.
