Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BEST HOTEL STAY IN YEARS The front desk was incredible with how they not only treated us but many other guests. They were very attentive to all our needs. The room was not ready when we checked in very early in the morning but after walking around and seeing some sights, they found a room for us when we returned. The breakfast was hot and ready right on time when they said. The room was cleaner than my house. We stay at many HIE but this was the best as far as comfort and the way they made us feel like family. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING HERE. June 30, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Stay at the Holiday Inn Express My wife and I spent three nights at this property. We were greeted by a friendly staff. The young lady at the counter was extremely helpful. I believe her name was Maria. We would ask her how to get to a variety of places. She would look them up and print out directions for us. She was extremely patient. I would ask her how to get to several places. The breakfast was always well stocked and the food was warm. I loved the pancake making machine. The only draw back was the size of the room. It was very small. I heard several guests complaining how small the rooms were in the elevator. It would be helpful to have an additional mirror in the room. My wife had trouble getting ready in the morning because of the mirror. On the whole it is a great location very close to Michigan Avenue. June 28, 2015

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room is small but was not a problem. I would not hesitate to stay here again. June 28, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 1925 Cass Hotel - Updated to 2015 Parking is outsourced to parking vendor and is pretty pricey. Although I expected at least $50 – the daily rate was $54. However, be sure to read the pink slip …..I did not…… The pink slip indicated 5:00 pm check out or additional fees would be assessed. At 5:45, I requested my car. When it arrived 10 minutes later, I was told I had $26 in additional fees since it was after 5:00 pm! But, since I paid cash…..the fee was reduced to $20. Therefore parking from 9:30 pm to 5:45 pm was $74. That was really more than I budgeted. The location is GREAT – walking distance to many sites. Shopping is close. A couple blocks north is Holy Name Cathedral which offers daily mass. Just diagonally across the street is The Driehaus Museum – definitely worth a visit! Neighborhood is very safe and I was able to easily access the lake for a long morning run. The lobby and breakfast area is very modern – sleek bright. Security is good – must have key to access room though elevator. Because it is old hotel, the rooms are quite small, but updated. The bath is also small. Several of the beautiful gray tiles were loose and moved when stepped upon. All bed and bath linens were fresh and up to date. The room was clean. One of the headboard lights did not operate. The only mirror is in the bathroom and electric outlets (other than those on the desk) are difficult to locate and use. The breakfast selection varied and was quite good. Breakfast offered plenty of fruits, coffees, teas, eggs, meats, rolls, cereals, and bagels. The staff immediately responded to requests to refill an item. Only paper and plastic was available - I would prefer using glass plates and metal utensils. All staff members (including front desk, room cleaning, and breakfast) were friendly and accommodating.
