Conveniently located in Mexico City’s best District (Polanco), you have nice restaurants, museums, parks, within walking distance or a quick taxi ride. But the best part, it’s their staff hospitality; they are always seeing how to exceed customer expectations.

I like a lot the location, rooms and service from the hotel, but the only thing I didn't understand was the sign hanging from the hotel related to government authority, nobody told us nothing just to know what was going on.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perrywinkle Poor service in Au Pied de Cochon
I have been going to Au Pied de Cochon since it opened, I have always had good food good wine and good service.
Last week I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, I was given a glass of wine from a bottle with Sancerre on the label. When I tried it I thought that it did not taste very much like Sancerre but as I had been eating a mint I did not reject it.
At the end of my meal, oysters only, I called the sommelier and told him that the wine tasted like no Sancerre I had ever had. His attitude was that he couldn't care less and that it was obviously Sancerre as that what it said on the bottle. He didn't even try the wine.
Not the standard that I expect from a restaurant of quality

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Juan1973 TAXI FARES
Only one concern, the taxis offered by the hotel vary greatly. One example, to go to the "Estadio Azteca" (which is pretty far) was 350 pesos. To go to the airport(which is relatively close) was 360 pesos. There should be more info on prices and/or how they charge.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mish57 I was charged by charges I shouldn´t be charged with
I arrived to the hotel with prepaid vouchers for B&B and they tried to charge me with breakfast. By the way, if you don't have B&B, don't eat breakfast there. It is extremely expensive (310 Mexican Pesos, before tipping).
I checked in as a Priority member, which entitles me for an internet connection for 10 USD a day. The bill they printed for me was the regular price of 20 USD.
Sure enough, they corrected the errors, but it left a bitter taste.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Eddy17 Lousy front desk
Nothing the hotel staff will do during my stay will remain in my memory if the check out experience is bad and almost miss my flight.
at 06:30 only two staff the front desk when 7 or 8 guests want to check out. I waited at least 15 minutes, did not have time to check my bill and left the hotel in a very bad mood.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by MexicoCity Managed staff the entire time
I recently stayed in this property for a quick five days and four night’s getaway. I made my reservations well in advance and used an Intercontinental Ambassador Free Weekend Night voucher. The reservation was made by the agent and she used three different confirmations. Not clear why but went along with it. This proved to be a problem as on three different occasions I had to advise the front desk that I was not checking out, as they thought I was. At the time of check out I was over billed and it took staff three attempts to take off the charges that did not apply to our room, chief among them the night that was to be covered by the voucher. He went back and forth with his manager.
Also, at the time of making the reservation I was assured an upgrade (don't make promises you can't deliver) by the agent. When I arrived at the hotel I was not upgraded and in fact was told that properties may or may not recognize some, all or none of the Intercontinental Ambassador benefits. Even though a complimentary upgrade is part of the perk of being an Ambassador Club member. So there is a discrepancy between the perks I get in the U.S. versus those in other countries. I have actually experienced this in Managua, Nicaragua. We did speak to a staff person three hours later and were upgraded to a Jr. Suite the following day. She really worked hard for this and truly thank her for the effort.
For the entire length of the stay I was managing staff and redirecting staff to look at the reservation and various confirmation numbers. I was assured on several occasions that “we took care of this and it won’t happen again” but the fact is that it happened on several occasions. Our keys would turn off as the system had us checking out on three different occasions.
I just wish that as an Intercontinental Ambassador member those benefits should be honored across the board. The hotel and the location are just phenomenal. However, staff need more training both customer service and managing reservations.
I speak English and Spanish fluently and do not believe that language was a barrier.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BB1954 Only people who know what they are doing is the valet guys & restaurants
Horrible experience. Front desk is arrogant and rude. Not customer oriented. They are slow and don't know what they are doing. Furthermore, they don't care what they are doing. It only got better when we got the front desk manager and that was on our departure. You should never need to talk to a manager at a hotel. Bathrooms need a total revamp and the housekeeping service needs serious training. Rooms were clean, but scheduling, what housekeeping takes and what they leave, how they refresh is a disaster. Nothing is fast. Only after we were there a week and we complained did the bar service get good. Restaurants are the only thing you have going for you. Location doesn't count because there are too many other similar hotels in the area. We will never stay with you again.

Location great for walking to restaurants and the Busques/Castle. Decently convenient when driving in the early AM pre-730 AM.
Addition of lobby bar vs. cart is a nice new touch.
Room view over the National Auditorium is awesome. Rooms, albeit older, still maintain sufficient modern look/feel.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Carlinhos Intercontinental Campos Eliseos Mexico City?
In the past few years I have stayed several times in this hotel when traveling to Mexico on my business trips. The location in Polanco is safe and is perfect. The hotel has increased it's prices, and the comfort of the rooms is below Intercontinental standards. The rooms are outdated and the bathrooms need some repairs. Although I would recommend the Intercontinental hotels in Santa Fe, Puebla and Guadalajara, I would not recommend the Campos Eliseos Intercontinental hotel based upon my latest stay in April 2013.
