Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Smoker on Balcony The rooms were comfortable and pleasant with special features of an open balcony overlooking the Marina and a gas fireplace. Unfortunately, the guests at the next room were smoking cigars on their balcony. The smoke and odor totally ruined our stay. 07 November 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Anniversary We booked the Clement for our first wedding anniversary. This was our first stay, and we were greatly impressed. Our room was spacious, modern and well maintained. We had a spectacular view of the bay. The first 2 days otters played right in front as if they'd been trained to do so for the guests. The staff was over the top in helpfulness, kindness and professionalism. The valet service can be a bit chaotic at check out time but otherwise timely and helpful. There is no better location in Monterey. We let the valet take our car and walked to sites and restaurants. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. 07 November 2012

I loved that it was right in the heart of Cannery Row. The pool was a bit of a disappointment, but overall, a very pleasant experience!!! I definately recommend it. 05 November 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great experience My husband and 7 month old son stayed here for a weekend. Overall it was a nice experience. Upon making the reservations I request a balcony with full or partial view. We did get a partial view room, however the "balcony" was a small black iron railing top and bottom, that stood maybe a foot away from the sliding door. (Street view on the opposite side of the street from main entrance. It wasn't much of a balcony at all. I did request another room, but they were completely booked for the weekend, which was great for them, but not so much for us. Overall, however it was a good experience. The Valet was exceptionally nice and helpful. The carpet had a stain, but not sure it was able to be removed.. 05 November 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome property. From the time we drove up to the valet to the time we left three days later the entire experience was Awesome. Front desk personnel were very helpful. Our room was on the top floor with a full water view. What a Fantastic room. Central cannery row location enabled us to walk comfortably everywhere. Would definitely return to the property as it was that nice. Only regret was that we had to leave and return home. 05 November 2012

We stayed in a room that faced the street but the sound proofing was good enough that the noise didn't bother us. The location is good too, you are right in the thick of things on Cannery Row, can walk everywhere. 03 November 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service Our first room was not good. Dirty carpet and stains on the chair. I went down to talk to Mark who checked us in. He came up and had a look and agreed, saying that the room should never have been cleared for rental. He upgraded us to a suite, which was great. He is a credit to your organization. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by What makes a Hotel 'perfect' ? I travel a lot.. not occassionally but constantly!, Sometimes waking and not exactly sure where I am and why! But when in the state of California I always take time out to stay at The Clement. Why? To me there is nothing more relevant in a great Hotel than the importance of service. It must be charming but professional; friendly without being intrusive; ever-present without being noticeable. This along with the combination of location, decoration and attention to detail plus a discreet and subtle lack of pretention makes The Clement, Monterey one of the worlds most outstanding residences. Outside of the InterContinental Warsawa, I have rarely seen such genuine interest in every part of the guest experience. I hate leaving and I love returning! 01 November 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Location and service First class service from the parking, lobby and restaurant staff. The bellman really helped in an exceptional way with junior's toy that needed assembly with tools. The room was pleasant enough with balcony, fireplace and ocean view. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and the portions were too large for people from Europe. Focus more on the quality instead. We had a great time though because of the excellent and child friendly service. 31 October 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Plleasure from beginning to end I felt so welcome from my meeting with the valet to the end of my stay and picking up my bill. The staff was friendly, accomodating and informative. I felt comfortable and not rushed whether I was just sipping wine on the patio, liesurely enjoying breakfast or booking my spa treatment. I booked the hotel for trips for my son and my daughter also. They thought it was an awesome place to stay and felt ike they had been on vacation even though it was for only 3 days. The only negative thing I felt was the strong smell of the ocean, but, hey, you are on the bay!! 29 October 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing weekend! I cannot recommend the Clement Hotel in Monterey enough. We thoroughly enjoy this hotel as a getaway from the Bay Area. The rooms iare impeccable, the staff extremely attentive, the food wonderful, and whole ambiance of the hotel worthy of the price for the room. We always have an ocean front room and we leave our door open at night and hear the ocean sounds all night. The hotel is not just a room but an experience and we highly recommend it. 26 October 2012

My husband and I stayed at three different hotels on our trip to California: this hotel, a lodge near Yosemite, and a swanky hotel in downtown San Francisco. This hotel was, by far, the most beautiful and comfortable hotel we stayed in during the trip (and it was the least expensive). The hotel is in a great location, close to shops and restaurants. 24 October 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by bad bath room I took a shower at 10pm, it did not drain, called desk for service of shower. person could not fix it. offered a different room at about 11:30pm but did not offer to move us to other room. in the next morning the bath room was flooded. so we called again and we had to go to breakfast. after breakfast the bathroom was still not fixed so we could not use the bathroom for a while. that made us late for our ride home. 21 October 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Spa Weekend We stayed here as we had treatments scheduled at the spa. The services at the spa were excellent, however the Spa itself VERY DISAPPOINTING. The relaxation/tranquility room looked like a closet. there were no real proper changing/locker area. The pool, hot tub and sun deck were small, disappointing, and in need of repair. Also, being accessible to kids etc, doesn't make for a relaxing time. The Spa should not be marketed as a day spa with 'additional amenties' as these amenties are not really too much to shout home about and not something i would 'market' as a plus for this spa. 20 October 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by So So experiences It was our second stay at hotel, the first was when it first opened a few years ago. That visit was ok, the room assigned to us was right on the street which was loud, and we never received foam pillows as requested when the reservation was made, even after calling housekeeping. The most recent stay there I called ahead to reserve two massages for the twilight massage special for my husband and I. When I called the day before to confirm our appt., I was told we had no reservation and there was only a 5:30pm (dinner time) appt. available. I also requested that we NOT be put by the street for this visit, paid extra for a delux room w/a partial ocean view, and requested foam pillows. None of our requests were honored, in fact we had to wait for our room to be ready when we checked in at 3:30, then told it would be a room on the street. The front desk changed our room away from the street, but we had to wait an hour before that happened. No foam pillows once again. There was a horrific odor on the main floor when we first arrived, which lingered into the elevators. When we called to request a later check out on Sunday b/c I had a spa appt. I was told they were totally booked (yes, on a SUNDAY - not likely!), and they could only extend our checkout for a half hour... When we did check out, the horrific odor was much worse and could smell it up on the 4th floor, in the elevators and hold your breath when you got to the first floor!! There was a fan blowing on the carpet, which made it worse... Room service was good, and my massage thereapist Anne Marie was excellent - best massage I've ever had! 19 October 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic Views of Monterey Bar This was our second stay at the Clement in Monterey. This time we decided to splurge and pay the extra price for a waterfront room. Well worth it! Both times the rooms were about the same size. Both times the staff was outstandingly courteous and helpful. Both times the rooms were clean, the bed and pillows comfortable. But to wake to a balcony overlooking the Monterey Bay was exceptional. We saw otters, dolphins, and sea birds. The view of the Bay was beautiful and the sound of the water was soothing. We enjoyed our stay last time, but this stay was outstanding. 19 October 2012

The food at the restaurant was delicious, the staff very accommodating and we were blessed with glorious weather and great whale watching while there. We would absolutely recommend staying here. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Stay Enjoyed our stay...friendly and professional staff...only 2 glitches that need to be addressed: (1) the carpet in our room (728) was heavily soiled and needed cleaning (I reported this at check out) and (2) the valet team needs to have umbrellas at the entrance. It was raining when we returned one afternoon and the cars were backed up under the canopy...we waited 10 minutes before we could pull under the canopy although the valets wanted us to exit the car in the rain and they had no umbrellas. We were told that they were "upstairs" and had been sent for but we didn't see an umbrella at the valet area for our entire stay. 17 October 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Can't find a better place on Cannery Row What a great location! It's literally a minute walk from the Aquarium. Our room was across the street from the main lobby overlooking Cannery Row. The view was great. I loved sticking my head out the window and looking up and down the street. The fireplace in the room was an awesome touch, too. The room was very spacious and clean. The only complaint I have is that super early in the morning the delivery trucks started. It was a ton of loud noise--pounding gates and the beep beep of the truck reversing. Besides that, though, it was a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend this place to others. BTW---Sebastian at the front desk sounds like he should be doing voiceovers in commercials! :) 16 October 2012

The room was beautifully appointed, with luxurious extra's and a soothing color scheme, and the bathroom was stunning. The staff, from the very attentive bellmen to the front desk employees and housekeeping staff, made us feel very welcome and pampered in a friendly, caring and professional manner. A small disappointment was the fact that we had absolutely no view, although you could say that the brick wall we faced highlighted the history of Cannery Row... Overall, our experience at this hotel was superb and we highly recommend it for a weekend get-away or as a base to explore Monterey and Carmel. 16 October 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The hotel offers the best location. Once you valet parked the car, you practically can walk to everywhere.. From the aquarium to popular restaurants. I was there with my 2 grandchildren, they are 18-months old, and they do need to take naps in the afternoon. There were other families with small children, I was somewhat disappointed that they were running wild in the hallway and making an awful lot of noises. Plus the heavy door makes a loud bang when it closes. This really ruins the tranquil environment of the property. Wonder if a discreet sign could be displayed somewhere that would prevent this annoyance, this could also be created by the housekeeping crew when they service the rooms. 15 October 2012
