Crowne Plaza Lanzhou

Gansu Provincial Museum is the biggest comprehensive museum in the province. Built in Russian architectural style, the museum is shaped like the letter "E". It is one of the best sights in the city and a visit is well worthwhile. Built in 1956, the museum covers a total area of 18,000 square meters (about 4 acres). This museum will provide visitors with a unique and memorable experience.

The staple food of Lanzhou is often Muslim influenced, so that meat dishes are generally of mutton and beef, rather than pork and chicken, varieties. Muslim style of food is none better elsewhere to be found than in Lanzhou, where Muslim restaurants and food stalls are to be found on nearly every street. When you come to Lanzhou, you must try these special food, especially the beef noodle.

According to Plan of Lanzhou‘s Subway Construction, Lanzhou aims to build 3 metro lines and complete Line 1 and Line 2 among these in the short-term planning (2011-2020). Central Urban Area Line Network is composed of Metro Line 1, Line 2 and Line 3 with the total length of about 82km, 64 stops.

When you come to Lanzhou, do not miss the chance to pay a visit to the mother river and the Yellow River Mother Sculpture. The sculpture was carved out of a huge piece of granite in 1986 in Beijing with 6 m in length, 2.2m in width and 2.6 m in height. This sculpture is the best of its kind in China. The sculpture connotes that the Yellow River has nourished generations of Chinese.

Lanzhou has 8 divisions, among which five city districts sprawling some 20 kilometers along the length of the Yellow River which runs from west to east through the City. For first time visitors to the city, the Chengguan District matters most. This is the original space of the 'Old City' of Lanzhou which was the entire city until it expanded after 1949 AD.
