The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is one of Japan's most spectacular mountain sightseeing routes, connecting Tateyama Station in Toyama Prefecture with Ogizawa Station in Nagano. Travelling by cable car, bus, trolley bus and ropeway, visitors explore Murodo at 2,450 metres above sea level and the iconic Kurobe Dam. Highlights include the towering Snow Walls in spring, alpine flowers in summer, and autumn foliage. Accessible from Dentetsu-Toyama Station, the route offers scenery in every season.

The Matsukawa River runs through central Toyama with five hundred cherry blossom trees lining its banks, one of Japan's top spots for hanami. In early April the trees bloom along both banks, and seasonal boat cruises glide the full length of the cherry-lined channel, drawing visitors from across Japan and beyond. Iwase Town is a preserved district of merchant houses and traditional storefronts on the northern edge of Toyama City, about 25 minutes from the city centre on the city tram. The Fugan Suijo Line boat cruise runs the canal spring to autumn; winter brings illuminations, spring brings cherry blossoms along the water. About thirty minutes on foot or a short tram ride from the hotel, with riverside cafes nearby.
