If you are a nature lover you'll love the Botanical Garden, filled with extraordinary exotic flowers and plants. Approximately 40 minutes from the hotel, a taxi driver will take you there for a cost of U$20. Half a Day: Parque Los Tres Ojos

The Three eyes Park of Water: This park is a definite 'must see'. Long staircases take you down into a cavern to view three fantastic lakes. You can see right to the bottom of the clear waters. They look shallow, but in fact this is an optical illusion as the lakes are approximately 70 feet deep. Be sure to wander off the path a bit for some amazing caving experiences. One Hour: America's 1st Cathedral

You should visit The America's 1st Cathedral, located in the Old City, where you can appreciate great architecture as well as learn about our colonial history. Just five minutes away on a cab from our hotel. Very impressive. No cover.

National Theatre

Enjoy concerts, ballet, opera and theatrical performances in this grand building. This pair of auditoriums, built in 1973, features the Sala Principal, the larger of the two, which has a capacity of 1,600 persons, and the smaller auditorium, Sala Ravelo, which holds up to 175 persons. Sala Ravelo is mainly used for conferences and small speeches, but the larger auditorium features Santo Domingo's top dance, music, and dramatic performers.

The idea of the Festival came about in 1995, when Dominican National Brewery chose to make an event to reward the loyalty of the Dominican people toward Cerveza Presidente beer. The Festival is celebrated each two years for three days in the month of October.

If you love baseball you will enjoy our baseball stadium. This place is a lot of fun, especially for Dominicans and those who love baseball. This is an unforgettable experience and a chance to enjoy our music, our food and our baseball. Tourists in Santo Domingo in December and January are in for a treat as many Dominican MLB greats join their local teams in the closing of the regular season in December and the finals in January. Action in Santo Domingo is at the Quisqueya Ball Park.

Getting around

Most tour groups will be bussed into the city in large chartered busses. If you are traveling individually, you will need to take a taxi from the airport to the city. The hotel can arrange a pick up service at the airport for U$45.00; you can also grab a cab which will cost about RD$1,400.00. Prices are posted at the airport. National Aquarium

The Dominican's National Aquarium is a scientific and educational facility exhibiting marine life in one of the best aquariums in the Caribbean. Its star attractions are a clear plexiglass sea tunnel and the orphaned manatee Tamaury. The National Aquarium is a monument to life underwater. Opened in 1990 by President Joaquin Balaguer. The National Aquarium is located at Spain Avenue, east of Santo Domingo.
