The Sanctuary of Guadalupe or San Diego Temple, in Mortelia, is an 18th Century building, with sober Baroque facade. Its construction took 8 years, starting in 1708 and concluding in 1716. It belonged to the Franciscan Order of the Dieguinos.

Las Tarascas Fountain

Las Tarascas Fountain display a bronze sculpture which dates from 1984 and represents 3 Purepecha women, with naked torsos and carrying a great fruit basket on their heads. It is presumed that this sculpture makes reference to the Indian princesses, Atzimba, Erendira and Tzentzangan.
