The Matenadaran is a cherished symbol of Armenian culture, renowned as the world's largest repository of ancient manuscripts. It stands tall on Mesrop Mashtots Avenue, at the heart of Yerevan. It serves as a scientific institution dedicated to the research of ancient manuscripts and conserves over 17,000 precious ancient manuscripts and 100,000 archival documents. At the museum's entrance, you'll come across a statue of Mesrop Mashtots, the inventor of the Armenian script.
