The Louvre Museum is four metro stops from the hotel, so it's easy to get to this world-famous collection of art treasures as soon as it opens, letting you beat the crowds to see the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, and the museum's other gems. Two blocks from the hotel, you can admire more than 50 modern sculptures beside the Seine at the open-air Musée de la Sculpture en Plein Air.
There's no more romantic way of seeing Paris than aboard a bateau-mouche cruiser on the River Seine as the sun sets over the city and the lights of the Eiffel Tower and other monuments are switched on. Cruises leave from Quai de Bercy, a 10-minute walk from the hotel. For families, the rides and attractions of Disneyland Paris are a 35-minute RER train ride from Gare de Lyon.
For a quintessential Parisian night out, book tickets for a performance at Opéra Bastille, a five-minute walk from the hotel. After the show, sip a nightcap at Le Train Bleu, at Gare de Lyon. This opulent art nouveau bar and restaurant has been serving cocktails, fine wines and classic French cuisine to discerning diners and celebrity travelers since 1901.
Thanks to its many bike paths and mostly flat terrain, Paris is a great city for cycling. To see the city's landmarks and leafy avenues on two wheels, you can hire a bicycle at one of Paris’ many Vélib stands – the nearest is less than a minute’s walk from the hotel. The first 30 minutes' rental is free, and you can return the bike to any stand you like.
