For locals and visitors alike, the Wuppertaler Schwebebahn is more than just a mode of transportation - it is a piece of living history. The Von der Heydt Museum in Wuppertal is a treasure trove for art lovers. Founded in 1902 as the "Städtisches Museum Elberfeld" and renamed the Von der Heydt Museum in 1961 in honor of the support of the Von der Heydt family, it features world-famous masterpieces of Dutch painting as well as works by renowned artists such as Monet, Picasso, Dix, Dalí, and Bacon. The museum's collection ranges from the 17th century to modern art. It is housed in a beautiful historic building in the city center.

The Green Zoo Wuppertal is one of the oldest zoos in Germany and has been welcoming visitors since 1881. Set in a lush, park-like landscape, it is home to over 3,500 animals from around the world. Among the many highlights are the Elephant House and the King Penguins, which can be viewed through a 15-meter-long underwater acrylic glass tunnel. Sculpture Park Waldfrieden is a tranquil retreat for art and nature lovers in Wuppertal. Opened in 2008, the park was once the estate of a local industrialist and now features contemporary sculptures by Wuppertal-based artist Tony Cragg and other modern artists. Tony Cragg himself transformed the once abandoned twelve-hectare estate into the park. The sculptures are set amidst lush woodland trails, blending art with nature. Temporary exhibitions and concerts are also held in a glass pavilion.

The Historische Stadthalle Wuppertal is a stunning concert hall, more like a palace, with over a century of history. Opened in 1900 and completely renovated true to original in 1995, its grand architecture and ornate interiors reflect the elegance of the Belle Epoque. Located on the Johannisberg, it has hosted countless concerts, from classical to modern. Its perfect acoustics and rich history make it a cultural jewel.
