Families and big kids at heart can experience Paultons Park, a vibrant theme park home to Peppa Pig World, 10 minutes' drive from the hotel. Southampton's Old Town is home to the 15th-century Tudor House and Garden. The house has quirky objects like a penny-farthing bicycle and a centuries-old sedan chair. Stroll through neighbouring King John's Palace, a Norman house which was once part of the city's defensive wall. Wander around the Tudor-style garden, with paths and low hedges, and relax with a cup of tea in the café.

Catch a show at the elegant 1920s Mayflower Theatre in Southampton's city centre. Choose from a diverse programme of ballet, comedy acts, opera and musicals, including touring shows. If you prefer outdoor action, there's horse riding, biking and hiking in the scenic New Forest, a short drive away. You can catch the ferry from Southampton Docks across to Cowes on the scenic Isle of Wight. Sail the morning away or browse souvenir shops lining the town streets. A little train takes you across the island to seaside retreats like Sandown and Shanklin, dotted with beachfront cafés, kids' rides and art deco buildings.
