Famous as the only monument dedicated to an insect pest, the Boll Weevil Monument stands in the middle of downtown Enterprise. Erected in 1919, it honors the boll weevil for forcing farmers to diversify crops, transforming the local economy. The statue features a classical figure holding a larger-than-life boll weevil above her head. Less than three miles from the hotel, this quirky landmark is a must-see. The U.S. Army Aviation Museum at Fort Novosel traces Army aviation from the Wright Brothers to modern rotorcraft, with more than 160 aircraft on display. Exhibits include rotary-wing technology, uniforms, and medals. Admission is free. The museum sits about 10 miles from the hotel on Fort Novosel, so plan for gate access and bring a photo ID. Novosel, the base is the home of Army aviation training.
