Produced by the City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs, the Charleston Farmers Market is available each Saturday from 8am-2pm in the beautiful Marion Square, between King and Meeting Streets at the edge of Calhoun Street in the Upper King Street Design District. The Farmers Market offers an abundance of the freshest local produce, shrimp, plants, herbs as well as numerous artisans. A delicious breakfast, brunch or lunches are available while enjoying a variety of live entertainment.

Folly Beach, also known as "The Edge of America", is a beautiful barrier island only 15 minutes from downtown historic Charleston. The Folly Beach County Park is located at the east end of the island and includes outdoor showers, restrooms, picnic areas and more. Folly Beach is the home of sea, sand and surfing, historical and cultural sites; a maritime forest; Morris Island Lighthouse; gourmet food and southern hospitality.

This 17th century estate, acquired in 1676 by the Drayton family, features America’s oldest gardens (c.1680), which bloom year-round. Pre-Revolutionary War plantation house, Biblical garden, antebellum cabin, nature train, nature boat, wildlife observation tower, gift shop and more.

“A must see!” – NBC Daytime Television. Boone Hall reflects Southern heritage spanning 300 years on one magnificent “still working” plantation. House tours, gardens, slave cabins, plantation coach tours, live performances in season, cafe, plus one of the world’s longest oak-lined avenues.

Carefully preserved 18th century plantation and National Historic Landmark; 65 acres of America’s oldest landscaped Gardens. House Museum tours highlight family collections and the role of the Middleton’s in American history. Craftspeople in the Stableyards recreate the activities of a self-sustaining Lowcountry plantation.

Stops at Fort Sumter National Monument, where the Civil War began. Cruise to the island Fort while you enjoy breathtaking views of Charleston and her Harbor. Depart from the Visitor Education Facility at Liberty Square downtown and from Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant.

The Isle of Palms County Park is conveniently located at the foot of the Isle of Palms Connector. This park offers over 430 parking spaces, a dunes boardwalk, showers, restrooms, a sand volleyball court, and a children’s play area. Lifeguards are on duty seasonally.

Open M-Su. The sprawling City Market encompasses three open air sheds and one enclosed Great Hall, which house more than 140 merchants, including 20 locally owned micro boutiques. This historic landmark is the best place to pick up a wide variety of authentic Lowcountry souvenirs and hear the lilting dialect of Gullah ladies as the weave and sell handmade sweetgrass baskets.

At Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum, tour the USS Yorktown, USS Clamagore, Medal of Honor Museum, Cold War Submarine Memorial and the only Vietnam Support Base Camp in the U.S. Its history you can touch.

No trip to Charleston is complete without a stop at White Point Gardens, known popularly as Battery Park. This peaceful park offers unprecedented views of Charleston Harbor and Fort Sumter, while a look back across the street promises fantastic images of beautiful Charleston mansions. Enormous oak trees provide serene shade to the park, and a display of weapons and cannons used in the Civil War make for a unique play area for children.
