Refuge trails and the auto tour loop are open seven days a week from 30 minutes before sunrise until 30 minutes after sunset. The Visitor Contact Station is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Public restrooms are available at the visitor parking lot, picnic area and observation tower. The best time of the year to see Whooping cranes is from mid-October through mid-March.
