Candlewood Suites on APG, MD is a great place to stay. Staff is professional and extremely friendly. Breakfast in the morning and social dinner every Wednesdays is a delightful treat. Rooms are spectacular and very comfortable.

As a 45 year DOD employee, I have stayed at many Army, Air Force and Navy hotels including IHG hotels. This hotel is new and has not been properly commissioned. Heating/AC was not working properly. It needs to meet environmental requirements, but must also meet individual comfort needs. Location can’t be fixed now, but it is not convenient for soldiers and military members as well as other visitors on the weekend. Roads leading to the facility need to be repaired ad resurfaced. Large potholes should not be acceptable to the command. TV in lounge/breakfast area should be on not off with no remote to turn on. Now that it is a new hotel. The hotel services personnel need to forget their old ways of an Army run hotel and be just as friendly, customer oriented as you find at all IHG hotels. When will the Army stop treating military visitors as “grunts” as we called them in the old day. Don’t accept anything but the best. The military deserves the best, not just acceptable.
