This was, as usual a well-managed IHG Army Hotel. It offered clean, quiet spaces, helpful front-desk services, a well-maintained laundry area and excellent breakfast options. Thoroughly well done - in my experience IHG's other franchisees do not reach the level of service achieved by the one that runs the Army hotel group. So, to my brothers and sisters in arms - you WILL be taken care of by this hotel!
Beds are VERY small

I love the hotel; IHG has proven to consistently be among the best.
However, this time, the bed was SO small. I have a king size husband, I'm a medium size d woman and the bed was full size.
My husband had to sleep in the chair b/c we both couldn't fit in the full sized, that they call a queen sized.

THE ROOM WAS VERY COZY, WELL DECORATED, AND CLEAN. WE HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED WITH THE KITCHENETTE. WE LOVED IT!
Visitor Pass Required, if civilian

The website for this location did not indicate that if you are a civilian, then a Visitor Pass is required (which is obtain by the Visitor Center) to allow entrance @ the patrolled gate check point to get to the Candlewood Suites property.. For the Visitor Pass, one must complete paperwork with ID & SS for a background check and have reservation info available to obtain the Visitor Pass. This process required add'l time that was unexpected. It would have been helpful to have this requirement for civilians, posted on the website for this location.
Otherwise, felt real safe here.

For the price of room, the tv channels should have sports channels ( had only 4) compared to other hotels . Pillows weren't great. Everything else was great.
Bath and/or Shower

On the day that I checked out, I took a shower and as I was attempting to exit the tub my feet started slipping uncontrollable. I didn't see ANY Grab Bars to hold onto and I fell face first onto the floor half in the tub and half out. I struggled to get onto my feet which were still in the tub and again my feet started slipping around but I mad it out. Both of my knee's have been replaced in the past and that was a concern of mine. I cut my arm and after I got dressed went down and got a bandaid from the receptionist. I also asked her if the maids ever put any type of cleaning oil on or in the tub, which she replied "I don't think so" and I told her of my fall which she said she would report and wrote some notes, Which to date I have heard nothing from Candlewood or Ft. Bliss Hotel. I have an appointment with my Dr. on Monday due to Headaches and soreness in the back of my head. But all in all I enjoy staying at Candlewood except for this time.

I was at the candle wood for 4 months and it was the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. From the constant key replacements because I would get locked out to the amazing conversations I had with staff members, it has definitely been a great experience. I would like to thank Alexis, the Latino guy that works at the front desk (sorry for forgetting his name), and also Dora V. The front desk attendants were always so generous and Dora did a great job cleaning my room. Thanks for the great experience!

Enjoyed the hotel, wonderful breakfast, location to mountains, Alamogordo, NM, shopping, Mountain View’s of Juarez, Mexico.
