While on-Post, be sure to visit Geronimo's grave, marked by a unique stone pyramid topped with a large stone eagle. The famed Apache warrior came to Fort Sill as a prisoner of war in 1894. He died in 1909 and was laid to rest in Apache Indian Cemetery.

The Museum of the Great Plains in Lawton is a great place to take the family. Detailing the natural and cultural history of the area, you can visit an 1840 trading post, a fortified stockade, a prairie schoolhouse and a two-story trader's cabin.
