Questionable housekeeping

Convenient to Airport

This was my third stay at this location. I really like the style of the hotel and the convenience to the airport and 24 hour airport shuttle. However on this stay I found my room was not as clean as I would expect. There were stray hairs in the bed and in the bathroom. Very disappointing as I did not experience such during my previous stays.

Don't stay here for the shuttle

They can't guarantee you a shuttle , the only thing they could offer me was to take me to the airport at 3am, 5 hours before my flight. Which forced me to take an Uber. This is ridiculous. They share a shuttle with other hotels and only have one , so the 4 timeslots surrounding when I needed to leave were booked.

No shuttle and no soap

Waited outside from 1:30 to 2:30AM in 34 degree weather for the 24/7 shuttle from the airport. Called the hotel 2x and told it would be there soon; was not informed that it broke down. Eventually paid for a ride there. No concession from the hotel, however. Emailed the GM and no response. And the body wash dispenser in the shower was empty, but didn't find this out beforehand of course.

This hotel is not up to IHG Standards

My flight out of CA to Denver was cancelled at the last minute. I knew I was in for a long night. I was able to book a different airline that would arrive in Denver much after midnight. I made the reservation on my IHG app. Because of the very late arrival I called the hotel desk and advised them of my late arrival and therefore a late check out. I will not stay in a hotel without a hot breakfast and the desk clerk assure me that this hotel had one. I arrived at the hotel around 2 am. The doors were locked with instruction to ring the buzzer. After several buzzer rings with no answer, I pushed the door until the alarm went off. A clerk arrived and let me in. (very pleasant and friendly young man) I reenforced my desire not to be awaken before the late check out later in the day. He assured me that no one would bother me. At 7:45 am someone was knocking at my door. Of course, it was housekeeping. I got out of bed and went to the door. The housekeeper had obviously heard me yell to leave me alone and moved on. I couldn't back to sleep, so I showered and went downstairs for breakfast. Even after I had been assured by the desk clerk when I called ahead, there was no breakfast. Just a bunch of boxes of cereal, nothing like all the other IHG properties. I was informed that it was a "Grab and go" breakfast. I checked out a began my 4.5-hour drive home. I stopped several times to get out and walk around as I was not afforded a good night's sleep and was fighting to stay awake driving down the Interstate. When I registered my complaint with the Front Desk Manager upon check out, she informed me that she had no authority to do anything about my complaints. She did however promise me that the General Manager Dejuan Chapa would call me that day. If Manager Chapa had called me, I would not have written this post. THIS HOTEL DOES NOT MEET THE IHG STANDARDS THAT SPIRE ELITE MEMBER HAS BECOME ACCOUSTOM TO. My suggestion is to avoid this property and stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

Accommodated a huge group with ease

My family and I had a trip planned to Colorado and due to strange circumstances, needed last-minute lodging for 20 people! AVID hotel at the Denver Airport not only accommodated us, but the staff were incredibly helpful, lodged all of us near each other, managed us checking in and out at different times even though one person arranged all the rooms, communicated via email beforehand beautifully, and helped my extended family's vacation off to an excellent start. MUCH appreciated!

Clean, but noisy and understaffed

Pros: Clean, new guest rooms. Decent mattress. Cons: Very hot polyester comforter. Walls are thin -- all night you hear doors unlocking, toilets flushing, water running, doors opening and closing, and footsteps in the room above. Sleep is impossible. At breakfast, there was no coffee. The juice machines were broken. There were no spoons, so cereals and yogurts couldn't be eaten. Hotel is understaffed. It looked like the desk attendant and housekeepers were the only ones there.
