The staff at Avid was standup. They were friendly, greeting you as you came and went. The room attendants made us feel welcomed and possessed great people skills. If you are ever in Perry, GA and desire a hospitable place to stay. Check out Avid by IHG.
Experience was far from ideal

I recently stayed at the AVID in Perry, Georgia, and unfortunately, my experience was far from ideal.
The first room I was given (on the fourth floor) was visibly dirty: there were fingerprints all over the doorknob and light switches, and a noticeable pinkish ring around the toilet bowl, suggesting it hadn’t been properly cleaned. To make matters worse, the AC unit in that room was extremely noisy, making it difficult to imagine getting a good night’s sleep.
I requested to move, and the staff did relocate me to a room on the first floor. While I appreciated their willingness to help, the second room had many of the same cleanliness issues. There were still fingerprints on the doorknob and light switches, a pinkish ring around the toilet bowl, and pinkish slime in each corner of the shower base. This was quite concerning from a hygiene standpoint and clearly indicated that housekeeping was not paying sufficient attention to thorough cleaning.
It’s disappointing, especially given that this property is supposed to be relatively new. If this level of housekeeping continues, the hotel’s quality and reputation will decline quickly.
I usually avoid this brand but decided to give IHG another chance. Sadly, this stay did not change my mind. After moving once already, I didn’t want to ask to be moved yet again. Fortunately, I’m capable of scrubbing a shower myself—which I actually had to do to feel comfortable using it—but I really shouldn’t have had to do that in a hotel.
Overall, this was an unpleasant experience. I hope management seriously addresses these issues to improve the standard of cleanliness for future guests.

There was no trash can in the room and a panel was off the wall exposing wires and plugs we were only staying for one short night so I didn’t complain. At checkout I tried to tell the front desk of the issues so they could correct them for the next guest BUT there was another guest complaining of bugs. The clerk was completely occupied which I understood but she never acknowledged me waiting and finally attracted minutes I left.

Rooms are tiny. Bathroom was dirty and pink mold already. Pool area was warm but the pool water was freezing cold. Breakfast was subpar compared to other AVID. Staff didn’t honor my diamond elite status, didn’t place me by preferences either. Check in was unpleasant, we arrived at 8pm to an eye roll.

I have stayed in other Avid Hotels that where much user friendly in the bathroom
No leaky shower doors.
the owners are just milking as much money as they can from this hotel.

The hotel was spotlessly cleaned and convenient to the interstate for travel. The beds were very comfortable. The AC in the room did not seem to stay constant but kept getting very warm, then cold for a while. There was not a microwave or coffee pot in the room. There were no drawers to store your items. If you just want a great bed for a quick stay it would be perfect. However, this hotel was not the quality I expected from an IHG property.

I especially want to recognize Sabrina for her understanding and attention to my travel snag. She was very resourceful and was able to accommodate my needs in spite of the fact I arrived early and the hotel was full for available rooms.

I am sorry for the delay in getting this written. I had asked Sabrina for Chris Patel’s business card, but misplaced it. Luckily I was able to speak to him directly and he gave me this resource so I could recognize Sabrina and the hotel in a more global way.

I WAS WELL PLEASED WITH MY STAY. I FELT SAFE INSIDE THE HOTEL AND AT PEACE ABOUT MY VEHICLE NOT BEING VANDERLIZED OR STOLEN . THE HOTEL WAS QUIET. THE CONTINETAL BREAKFAST COULD'VE HAD BETTER SELECTION BUT IT WAS FINE.
