Take a boat tour of Lake Nicaragua, known colloquially as Cocibolca, in a semi-covered pancha boat. It’s the largest in Nicaragua and among the biggest in the world.

The waterfall is not spectacularly big, but it is nice to see and it’s surely refreshing to swim in the pond underneath the waterfall. You can also walk around in the area surrounding the waterfall to absorb some nature.

The area is located in the southeast corner of the country, bordering the San Juan River. The reserve encompasses 3,180 km², and it is home to a wide variety of rainforest animals.

It has ecosystems, evergreen forest, riberian and marshy forest; that host a diversity of species of flora and fauna that thrive in the Caribbean region, which mean benefits for communities and their inhabitants. It is an oportunity to do Bird watching in the wetlands and rivers áreas, sport fishing and trekking.

In this natural space inhabit countless of flora and fauna species which can be appreciated during the tours between different paths or in wooded areas, where you can also enjoy the scenic beauty.

It was built by President Juan Bautista Sacasa in 1935 and it houses lots of history. For more than 50 years, the National Palace was used as governmental office. During the revolution, the building was taken by the Sandinistas and nowadays, the building serves several purposes. It houses the National Archive, the National Library, as well as the National Museum.

The Solentiname Islands are a set of many islands in the southeast corner of Lake Nicaragua. These absolutely lush tropical islands are home to a small population of peasants and fishermen who above all are artisans. Solentiname is famous for the handicrafts they produce.

It’s known for a string of nearby Pacific beaches, such as Maderas Beach, with its strong-breaking waves, and the quieter Marsella Beach. A towering, contemporary Christ of the Mercy statue stands on a cliff above the bay. Near a creek on the outskirts is an ancient petroglyph.

Involves scrambling over rocks, floating down rapids, and jumping from very high rocks into deep pools. The more adventurous can opt for a six-hour trip that includes abseiling down cliffs and visits to spooky caves inhabited by bats

One of the main attraction of this reserve is its biodiversity. The zone is one of the richest in orchids; there are more than 200 species of them and the most common is the national flower of Costa Rica, which is the Catteleya Skinniri. The orchids of Miraflor grow in different spots, such as threes (the most known) and the ones that grow on rocks and on the ground, which are the most colorful and rare.
