Indio Maiz Biological Reserve

Nicaragua Cultural Center

It was built by President Juan Bautista Sacasa in 1935 and it houses lots of history. For more than 50 years, the National Palace was used as governmental office. During the revolution, the building was taken by the Sandinistas and nowadays, the building serves several purposes. It houses the National Archive, the National Library, as well as the National Museum.

Solentiname Islands

San Juan del Sur

The zone is one of the richest in orchids; there are more than 200 species of them and the most common is the national flower of Costa Rica, which is the Catteleya Skinniri. The orchids of Miraflor grow in different spots, such as threes (the most known) and the ones that grow on rocks and on the ground, which are the most colorful and rare.
