Huế is the capital of Vietnam’s last dynasty and evokes all the atmosphere and charm of a former imperial city. Set on the banks of the Perfume River, the city boasts beautiful temples, tombs, palaces and pagodas – many of which date from the time of the Nguyen emperors. It's a destination for architecture and history buffs as well as a mecca for those who love Vietnamese cuisine.

Hoi An is a UNESCO Heritage Site and the cultural jewel of central Vietnam is any easy 40-minute drive from the resort. It's a beautiful town for strolling and dining, with a gorgeous ancient town cut through with canals. The Chinese, Japanese, French, Dutch and Portuguese all played a role in Hoi An's history, giving it a unique, picturesque flavour. Hoi An is surrounded by verdant rice fields perfect for cycling, and is the site of some of Vietnam's best beaches.

This UNESCO World Heritage site is a complex of Hindu tower temples constructed by the Champa culture between the 4th and 14th centuries. Many of the over 70 temples are dedicated to Shiva, the Hindu god of destruction, while their architectural designs symbolise Mount Meru, the mythical sacred mountain home of Hindu gods at the centre of the universe. My Son is known as the Angkor Wat of Vietnam and is an easy daytrip from the resort.

Situated in the heart of the city, the Cham Museum houses an extensive assemblage of items from the ancient Cham civilization, which is considered to be the largest in the world. The exhibits showcased there date back to between the 7th and 15th centuries and are crafted from materials such as sandstone, terracotta, and bronze. A number of sculptures depict Shiva and Vishnu, Hindu deities, and there are also notable pieces like pedestals and linga.

Located on the Son Tra Peninsula en route to the resort, Linh Ung Pagoda offers sweeping views of the sea and the surrounding areas. But its most striking feature is the enormous, all-white statue of the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy. At 67 metres, it is the tallest statue in Vietnam and one of the tallest in Southeast Asia. The statue faces out towards the sea and at night is illuminated by a beacon to guide local fishermen to safety.

Bana Hills is a recreational area in the mountains just west of Danang City. Play golf at the exceptional course at the foot of the mountain or ride the cable car to the top. You will discover an amusement park, a replica French village, and the iconic Golden Hands Bridge.

The Marble Mountains are limestone formations protruding from the jungled landscape between Danang and Hoi An. Several paths lead to the top, with breathtaking views of the ocean. The mountains are punctuated with many caves, each easily accessible. Make sure to check out the enormous Huyen Khong cave, home to an enormous Cham Buddha and other religious and historic artworks.
