Also known as the Foguetão, the Dr. António Agostinho Neto Memorial is a Luanda monument built in honour of the famous Angolan doctor, writer and politician. Following Angola’s independence from Portugal, he became the country’s first president. The iconic mausoleum and museum tower over the city and are Luanda’s most dominating structures. Also on display: photos of Agostinho Neto with other political leaders around the world, including Che Guevara, Fidel Castro and Honecker.
