My stay there were excellent. I was getting married over the weekend. The room was so roomy. I liked the kitchenette there. I will recommend this place to everyone that I know.

The cooling system is controlled by a motion sensor. My room was hot and stuffy. When the air DID come on it was very loud.
I will not stay at this hotel again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JAY-D no maid service
Just stayed here (Kenosha, WI) for four days (May-14). What I'm not seeing people or the hotel talk about is that they don't clean your room or give you fresh towels. On my second day I asked if they could clean my room today. They looked up my number and said I was only staying four days so I would have no maid service! I had to take my dirty towels down to the front desk in exchange for fresh ones. The A/C unit is set up on motion in the room, and I might add you can't adjust the fan setting. Every night I would wake up hot and have to turn the A/C down to get it to kick on for another 30 minutes or how long it was until it went off again, I have never seen something like that in my life. Lastly, I was woke up at 4AM even though I'm on the second floor because a bunch of construction workers who were staying there extended periods were allowed to drink in the outside BBQ area. Who allows guests to sit outside and drink until 4AM until they start waking up guests. What is the point of staying at this place if you don't have hotel services, just for kitchentte and full size fridge. I could have stayed at other (regular hotels) for the same price, I will add I was using my military discount so maybe for others that might make the difference. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel in the United States in my life. Couldn't sleep, no trash or bed service, and had to get my own towels. I have to go back again next year and defintely will not even consider this place, even if it was 20 dollars cheaper a night. I want to stay in a hotel, that is what I'm paying for.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by YTown Road Warrier Take a Cold Shower
I am a 25 year veteran of staying at hotels and lost track of the different precious metal card levels I have attained. What I want in a hotel is simple: peace & quiet, quiet bed, cleanliness and properly functioning engineering. I was located in a quiet room, the bed was comfortable, the HVAC functioned well, the toilet flushed properly and the sink and shower drains drained. All of the lights were functional. The cardinal sin of them all, the shower water temperature fluctuated severely from hot to cool and then stayed cool.. You've got to have consistent hot water! There is no breakfast but the hotel has a store where you can purchase food items that can be microwaved. Back to the Holiday Inn Express up the street for consistent hot water and a breakfast. I recommend this property if they fix the hot water system.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ElaineRita Great room, exceptional service
We have stayed at the Candlewood previously and were so impressed the 1st time, we booked again. We were not disappointed!. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The hotel desk staff is great and allowed us to get our room ahead of schedule which was nice as we had traveled 61/2 hrs. and still had a funeral to get to. We will definitely stay there again and again and again....

The room was very clean. It was spacious, and had everything I needed. The desk attendant was friendly and helpful. My negative experience came at bedtime. I found the mattress to be uncomfortable, but the worst part was the bedding. While very soft, it smelled terrible. Not like it was used, and not cleaned, but just like it was old and over laundered. The smell was strong enough to hinder sleep. The pillows were truly the worst I have ever slept on. In addition to the bad bedding, there was a light shining in my window...and no way to block out the light. How ridiculous to not provide a way to darken the room.
While I appreciated many of the amenities, and the size and cleanliness of the room and bathroom, I would never consider staying there again. I needed a room predominantly for sleep, and got none!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Marcie4 Extended Stay with Regular Hotel Prices
I heard such good things about Candlewood suites, on a recent trip to Kenosha, I decided to try it.
I was there for 6 days. I can't believe you charge regular hotel room rates with for an 'extended stay' hotel. If I had known there was no daily maid service and daily in-room coffee, I definitely would not have booked with you. I even had to track people down at the front desk. I overheard a phone conversation with a guest and was surprised at the attitude the employee had on the call. The complimentary coffee in the 'cupboard' was so weak it was like tea. This hotel cuts every corner imaginable.
I travel to Kenosha frequently and will spend my money on another suite hotel that does offer regular hotel services AND charges less per night. I feel like I rented a very expensive apartment for a week.
The bed was comfortable.
It was very difficult to get the temperature regulated in the room.
Having a desk that juts out from the wall does not make one room a 'suite'.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Badabing Housekeeping Still Not Organized; Internet Poor
I was there 2 weeks and no housekeeping showed up even after I told the front desk about it. This is the 2nd or 3rd time that has happened at this location. Luckily I am clean and the folks are very nice. I like the convenience of home.
Sure would be nice to have a pool! Also, I don't like having to log in to the Internet service every day. Many times it cuts me off (after 24 hours) when I am in the middle of an important transaction. The internet is also way too slow and even Youtube can't be streamed readily.
The folks are very friendly and the Tuesday manager's BBQ is always appreciated.

Getting to the Suites is a fairly easy process but, be mindful that you don't readily see the sign for the hotel because it is located in adjacent to a small shopping area.
The rooms are clean, and well appointed for the business or casual traveler. Parking is also convenient.

I stayed in the Candlewood Suites in Kenosha for 3 months while I cared for my daughter and her family. She was put on bed rest at 20 weeks with twins. They were born at 33 weeks and I stayed to help out afterward.
I loved having my own space at Candlewood Suites to come back to every night and have my morning coffee in as well. It was all I really needed, 2 TV's, a stove, micro, great fridge and internet acces. The bed was kingsize and very comfortable. I also enjoyed getting a USA Today and local paper daily.
The staff was very helpful whenever I needed anything. My husband and doggies often came to visit from Indianapolis and they were welcomed as well. There was lovely space for dog walking too.
I'm home now and babies are big and healthy. Very glad to be home but remember my stay happily.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ProudGrandpa Clean Hotel, Nice Staff
Just stayed overnight. Room was very clean. I've stayed other places where things were overlooked, there was not a speck of dust! The beds were very comfortable and the sheets were clean! Plenty of towels available. This would be a great place for an extended stay with the equipped kitchenette. There were plenty of dishes and cleaning up would be no problem since there was a dishwasher! The business center came in really handy for going online and printing boarding passes. Would have been nice if there was complimentary coffee or snacks provided for breakfast, but there were restaurants nearby and again for long stay you could make use of the kitchenette. Overall it was a very nice quiet hotel and the staff was very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by MattPCTravel Apathetic towards platinum members
The hotel itself is fine. It's a renovated Candlewood property, and the furnishings are updated and nice. Great location not too far off the highway.
Staying at IHG properties every single week for the past 5 years, this is the ONLY property that would not grant me an extra hour to check out as a platinum member.
At first, the evening receptionist said I would have to call down at 7am. Doesn't this defeat the purpose of getting an extra sleep?
Then she said that the manager would not allow it due to a full house. Obviously, looking online, I could see that the hotel was not sold out. Furthermore, when we did leave, there certainly was not a rush of housekeeping urgently ready to clean the room.
Though it's not a guaranteed benefit of being a platinum member, I have never had an issue in any state, any country, anywhere. How you treat your best members really reflects poor management.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by RichA Nice Hotel with Terrible Beds :((
We enjoyed the suite with kitchenette and its amenities. There was enough space and the handicap accessible bathroom was very important for my dad who is in a wheelchair.
I have stayed in this same room before, as it is the only handicap accessible room with 2 beds in Kenosha. Unfortunately, the beds are just terrible. My dad and I both got no more than 2 hours of sleep the whole night. The experience was pretty much the same the first time we stayed there.
Everything else was nice but the beds made the whole stay just a nightmare. If there is ONE thing a hotel should have it is comfortable beds. I could accept many other shortcomings, but sleeping is paramount. This is the main reason for paying for a hotel room.
Your advertising brags about your specially made custom sealy posturepedic beds but they are not the slightest bit comfortable. I was in pain the whole night and I could not stay in bed because of the uneveness of the support.
One portion of the bed squished down, while the other side of the bed felt like a sack full of billiard balls. Also, there was a hard ridge like a wall running down the middle of the bed.
The sheets and blanket were like those on a hospital bed. One thin cotton dish towel like blanket sandwiched between 2 cold sheets. The pillows were ridiculously small and uncomfortable. I tried to use the recliner instead, but the chair was also hard and uncomfortable.
We will possibly have to stay in this room again in the future as Kenosha is where our family is. We will probably be forced to bring all of our own bedding including pillows, blankets and especially a thick matress topper.
My sister stayed in another room and also complained that it might be better if she simply brought her inflatable air mattress to sleep on instead of your beds.
