I have stayed here once before and had no complaints. However, during this last stay I was very disappointed in the 1 Bedroom Suite. The room itself has an extremely poor layout. Both the bathroom and bedroom door didn't open all the way. In fact, the bedroom door only opened halfway before it hit the bed. The bedroom was also very small which made the matter worse. I called the front desk to ask for either another 1 bedroom that was functional, or a studio suite. The attendant replied that there were no other rooms available even though when I looked online, it showed there was. I asked if I could move the next day since I was staying 2 nights, and was told I could not, even though I saw guests checking in the next day. This may seem like a small matter but I was staying here for a quick weekend trip and spending alot of time in the hotel room. I felt like I didn't want to sleep or watch tv in the bedroom since it was so cramped, plus dvd player was in living room, so I tried the sleeper sofa which was horribly uncomfortable. I understand the hotel was busy but I feel like no effort was made to assist us in our situation, no apology to be made. I paid extra for the 1 bedroom and feel that the room was actually not worth the extra money, in fact, the studio suite is far more comfortable. I won't be coming back as customer service is a huge part of the hotel experience and this hotel does not seem to have it when it counts.

This is one of the best rooms i have had in the Santa Maria area. I work at the nearby Vandenberg AFB and had previously stayed at another brand Motel, and the Candlewood is by far the best place i've stayed at. The room is huge, pleanty of outlests for working and charging all of the toys that we travel with. The kitchen is stocked with all of the quallity pots and pans needed to cook a quick meal, the refrigetrator and icemaker were great and had the nicest microwave i've ever seen at a hotel.
Nice tv and a fair assortment of chanels, most in hi-def which was nice also.

This was our second stay at this facility, and we intend to make it our prime location to stay when up in this area. Price and value is outstanding. Service and cleanliness was exceptional.

The facility is conveniently located near the exit off Highway 101. The staff was pleasant, room clean and convenient - it was a nice visit - no issues and free DVD movie to boot.

The night staff were very friendly during our late check in. The room was very clean and the only thing missing was a lounge chair. We got a great nights sleep and enjoyed the chocolates and water that were given to us as Priority Club members at check-in. Thanks for the great stay!!

Great Staff and my Dog loved it.... Rooms were clean and the hotel looked new. I stay in hotels 365 days a year and would make this place my home in a second.

Love this facility!! I am in hotels approx 130 nights a year and this is one of my favorite stops! Kitchen is always ready to cook,(get tired of fast food n public eateries) Have stayed in the suites and the studios, both are a Great value! Keep up the good work, Thank You

Our experience at Candlewood Suites Santa Maria was awful. When we got to the hotel at 10pm after driving 7 hours, we were told that they did not have our special request for a quiet room on a higher floor although I'd called the hotel a week before arriving and confirmed it. The receptionist at the front desk didn't seem to care nor couldn't be bothered, and when we asked for the manager, she stared at the computer for 20 min before telling us that they were fully booked. Then, once we had settled in for the night closed to 11pm, front desk called to tell us that they had a cancellation ... at 11pm?!? ... and we could move to a suite if we wanted to. The check in was handled so badly, and we did not get to bed till midnight with our 4 year old completely exhausted and frazzled.
Furthermore, I'd sent a feedback to Priority Club customer service, and a representative sent me an email back saying that I would be contacted by the hotel manager within 48 hours. It’s been over 5 days, and I haven’t received any email or correspondence from the hotel.
