Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Most accomodating... My husband and I (and recently our new dog) have been staying at Candlewood Suites twice a month on business for 3 years. I must say they have very thoughtful, friendly and accommodating staff, and the hotel itself is perfect for long-term or short stays. There is free laundry and exercise facilities, a business office if you don't travel with a laptop, and a little store in-house where you can easily pick up snacks, supplies and cold drinks. Oh and did I mention the free DVDs to view? If I need something faxed or copied the front desk staff are always helpful. The prices are very reasonable and they welcome pets...a wonderful home away from home! January 25, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Met My Needs I stayed here while in town for Thanksgiving day. The room was very clean and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised by the kitchenette. Great for extended stays. If you are a light sleeper you may want to request a room not facing Broadway, as the traffic is heavy and can be heard. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. This may not be the nicest part of town, but the hotel was clean and offered great rates. I would choose to stay here again. December 9, 2013

Recommend senior guest (such as myself) not be placed beneath families with children, too much noise overhead. Met some very fun and interesting long-stay guest during our weekend stay. Thanks much! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Room smelled of urine & vomit on our door/entryway I rented 2 rooms during our stay in Santa Maria, CA, my hometown. The room my son & his family stayed in, room 208, reeked of urine. After we checked in to our rooms we left to visit family. Upon return there was vomit all over the door, door jam and down the hall. We couldn't even enter the room. I had the whole family stay in my room while I reported the mess to the desk clerk. No one else was available so she had to leave the desk to clean it up. Once it was cleaned up we opened the door to vomit on the threshold and a foul odor of urine, which we still could not enter the room. The hotel was booked and was told one guest still had not checked in and it might be possible to move to that room, which is on the 4th floor. After my son & his family settled in they received a call and was offered the room on the 4th floor. They declined. It was late and the 2 small children were asleep. They slept with the bedroom door closed & window opened all night. In the morning the cleaning staff cleaned the carpet. By the afternoon the source of the odor was discovered by my son & daughter-in-law. The hotel allows animals in the rooms and there were stains under the large chair and sofa bed. We reported the source but it was not looked into. The morning we checked out I asked the desk clerk if he was told about the odor stains and he said he had not so I explained to him about the stains under the furniture. No one seemed too concerned. Another issue I had with Candlewood was the fact that they do not offer housekeeping on a daily basis. Housekeeping is offered once a week. If you need new towels or linen you have to collect the dirty towels & linen and exchange for clean at the counter. No one empties the garbage either! We will NOT use Candlewood Suites in the future! The parking lot was difficult to find due to a lack of signs required to help get you there, especially if you were to come in at night. We had trouble during the day. October 16, 2013

Easy to make it feel like home for anyone interested in extended stay. The staff was the gem of our stay. Jose and Blanca were always happy to help. Great place for dog owners. October 14, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by September stay Well there are good points and not so good points. The not so good points are 1) There is no lid on the toilets, so when the toilet is flushed, tiny particles spray up in the air as happens on all toilets. That means tiny particles of feces up to to 36 inches in the air. Very unsanitary and unhealthy condition. 2) Pull out bed had springs that were felt through the bed pad that management provided. Definitely not confortable. The good points are: 1) Room(on the parking lot side) was quiet 2) Comfortable setup for breakfast counter/work area. 3) Kitchen setup was convenient and adequate with plates/glasses etc. 4) Bedroom was comfortable.
