Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Was nice hotel once, but not now This hotel is very tired and in serious need of refurbishment, it is not a 4 star grade hotel. The bar area feels cold and unwelcoming, as does the restaurant with it high ceiling and false beams, well past it. You get a sense of the hotels poor standards when you walk up the stairs to your room the banister moves and rocks on both sides. Then when you get to your room the heating does not work correctly despite the air con set to 32. As you can imagine I was not impressed and will not return 26 January 2015

Lady at check in was not at all friendly, the next day she was in a better mood :-) I travel a lot in the USA and as a platinum member I get a suite if available. I asked if there was a possibility for a suite and the lady at front desk said there are no suites, only family rooms while a stayed in a suite there before! I realy don't mind if advantages for platinum members are different in other countries but am not comfortable with people not telling the truth. She said she had my platinum number written down but no points are showing up my either so something went wrong there too. The room was not super modern but very clean and comfortable, nice bed and good cushions. At check out the lady at frond desk was friendly. Breakfast was good, a nice variety, fresh and perfectly baked! 01 January 2015

Room was comfortable, but general feel of common areas of Hotel was of rather cheap furnishings/decor and more could have been done to improve ambience especially of the restaurant (also spoilt by uninspiring "chain pub" menu). The room's tap water tasted unpleasant (perhaps having been through a water softener). Suggest bottled water is provided for guests. 31 December 2014
