We arrived at the hotel and were immediately impressed. The valet hustled to take our car and our bags. Service was excellent and we enjoyed everything. It is the nicest beach on Cancun!! The hotel always seemed quiet and spacious even though they had full occupancy during our stay. We included the breakfast buffet with our room package and were delighted with the food, selection and taste of the food. Everyone was friendly and helpful, especially the bartenders.
We visited several other hotels while in Cancun to see how they compared to our hotel, and were so pleased that we were at the Presidente! Quiet, beautiful, great rooms, excellent service and ideal location. I could not have asked for better than we received. We will definitely be back to enjoy this experience again. Our friends stayed on the 6th floor and they were treated to a breakfast plus cocktails and wine with dinner snacks at night. They really loved it. Next time, I will try to book on the 6th floor, but not because I was unhappy with my room. I just liked the idea of the additional perks.
You will not regret your choice if you book this hotel for your stay.

I have stayed at the Presidente Cancun on three occasions. I plan to return next year. This is a first class superior hotel, and although it is not cheap, it is good value. The adult pool is quiet. The staff is well trained and very helpful. The beach faces north so there is little surf action.

Newly renovated rooms. Breakfast buffet by the beach was great. And the beach is the best at this hotel compared to other hotels along the beach. Within walking distance to some shopping plazas. Easy bus ride to La Isla, and also bus/taxi ride to the clubbing area.

¡No podemos esperar a regresar!

My spouse and I just had an amazing 5 night stay at the Presidente Intercontinental Cancun Resort. We have lived overseas and traveled around the world so we are demanding as resorts go. We arrived on St Valentine's evening to an absolutely exquisite romantic dinner on the beach! Our beautiful suite was modern and spacious, and in the morning we were amazed by the great views of the Caribbean. We had heard that the Presidente Intercontinental had the best beach in Cancun, and it absolutely does. The beach boasts uniquely calm turquoise waters and crystal white sands. During our stay we were further amazed by the chef's and outstanding service at the Caribeño & Caña Brava Restaurants, where the variety of dishes and fusion of flavors were superb. The hotel is not an all-inclusive property, thus we enjoyed the attention to detail, outstanding service, and world class cuisine that all inclusive properties lack. During our last evening dinner at the Caribeño Restaurant we were treated to a delicious flambé dessert and coffee by Rafael, what a treat! This resort is a true Caribbean sensation.

Best beach with soft white power sand. Great place for families as well as friends vacationing together. I recommend the conceirge floor as the rooms, views and service are stunning. First class service on the beach by beach attendants with activities on the beach. Rooms and public space were immaculate. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by KellyP Great beach, hotel and service
Just returned from a week-long stay at El Presidente Intercontinental where we vacationed with our 15 month old daughter. While the hotel looks very simple, almost 80's-ish from the entrance, they've done a pretty complete remodel on the inside, making the very large and impressive lobby as well as the guest rooms super modern, but still comfy.
This is a more family and business-focused hotel. There was a mix of Europeans, North Americans (we felt like the minority) and Latin Americans. We didn't see any "spring breaker" types, the restaurant and bar scenes were very mellow and tame, and we often felt like we had the place pretty much to ourselves (we asked about this and the hotel told us we were in a quieter week, but they were still at 70%+ capacity).
The staff throughout the hotel was fantastic. Super friendly, helpful, just about everyone spoke perfect English and everyone was helpful and friendly to our little one. The staff as the restaurants are especially great, attentive but not overbearing, good with suggestions, and super friendly. Adolfo at the concierge desk was awesome--he always came through with a great restaurant suggestion, explained the bus system, and helped us get into our room when we arrived before check-in time.
We had a basic king room booked (with Priority Club points) and were upgraded to an ocean view, which was lovely. The room is clean, modern, updated and pretty spacious--even when we had the crib in there with us taking up extra space. There's a little mini fridge in the room (technically the mini bar) that we found it super handy and had enough space to store milk for the kiddo as well as our occasional leftovers.
We spent a lot of time at the pool and the beach, both of which were constantly being attended to by hotel staff and were always sparkling clean. There's no loud piped in music like we saw at other Cancun hotels we walked through--the whole area is very tranquil. The beach is beautiful. This is by far the best beach in Cancun for small children and/or swimming as it faces north and is sheltered from the rough surf. There are lots of chairs with shade, palm trees, gorgeous white sand, and always a waiter on hand to bring you fruity drinks, lunch, or anything else. The pool is very nice too. There's an adult only pool set towards the back of the pool area, but we spent our time at the main pool. The main pool entrance has a gradual set of steps that are great for kids, though not quite a zero entry situation.
The food at the hotel is pretty good too. DInner at the main restaurant (forget the name...outside by the beach) was really tasty and featured lots of Caribbean inspired dishes (we ended up eating here 2 nights, plus most mornings for the buffet breakfast). For lunch, there's the pool area restaurant with a pretty good variety of items, and there's also a coffe/sandwich spot inside the main lobby bar area.
We'll definitely return to Cancun, and would absolutely stay at the El Presidente. Thanks for a great vacation!

Beautiful hotel and rooms, exactly as pictured on the hotel website. Beach and beach bar were wonderful. All restaurants had very good food, some of the best we had in Mexico in fact. Club level food was also excellent and well worth the extra cost, very elegant presentation and ample variety. Staff were very welcoming throughout the resort.
This was our first stay at an Intercontinental, and the first time using the Free Weekend certificate. Since we were staying four nights, we had to book two reservations - one for two nights using the certificate and one for the other two nights. I anticipated problems, perhaps having to change rooms, but things were seamless. We did lose our first night's room cost (an advance nonrefundable reservation) due to bad weather and a cancelled flight, so the Ambassador Program will not protect you in that situation. However, I feel Intercontinental's program is one of the best in the industry, does truly make you feel like a valued customer, and is well worth the annual fee.

I've stayed here three separate times this month and have been pleased every time. There's a guy at reception named Aldolfo that is great. He remembered me by name and was extremely helpful with my last minute bookings.
The property is nice and in a good location. Nice beach/pool facilities.
I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent service from the concierge to the cleaning ladies. The club floor are excellent and they place a great deal of time and effort on recognizing and supporting the frequent users with Priority Club or Ambassador status.
Really top draw on the best beach in Cancun.

We had a wonderful stay at the Presidente. The room was very nice, clean and modern. Our goal was rest and relaxation. All of our needs were met at the resort thus we hardly had the need or desire to venture our. Only one complaint...we wished the pools and jacuzzi had been heated so that we could have enjoyed them on the days the weather was cool.

My wife and I decided to escape to Cancun for the weekend, as we stayed here before we couldn't choose better, great service since the beginning, special attention from the bellboy to the concierge at the club floor, great food, nice atmosphere, and one of the nicest beach we ever visit.
Close to the malls we walked into a nice romantic night. This hotel is a 5 star place, we will come back again, and again, and again

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by MNSings Great Beach, Helpful Staff, Acceptable Facility
We enjoyed our vacation overall. The hotel area was far more touristy than most places I choose to visit, but it was a nice get away from a Minnesota Winter.
The hotel is older, but they have done a nice job remodeling and maintaining it. Parking is free, which is amazing, but internet is not free and not worth paying for. So slow. I think the days are over when guests want to be paying for internet. Most of the newer hotels have dispensed with this model. The beach and the pools are nice. The beach is said to be the best in the hotel zone and quite possibly is. It's certainly huge. The room was comfortable but far too noisy. If you are on the "lagoon" side, i.e. the "not ocean" side, it is more like the street/highway side. The main throughway is there and it is loudy 24/7. Unfortunately the better view (we spent almost no daylight hours in our room) also equates a better nights sleep.
We did not use maid service, I usually don't at home or abroad, but found our room to be secure and the hotel lobby staff to be quite friendly and welcoming. When we needed to reach our airline on a Sunday the clerk even told us where we could find free pay phones to avoid the in-room charges. If I had to stay in the hotel zone again (and I probably wouldn't choose to), I'd stay there again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by archeptolemus Great Beach, great service, very relaxing
This is a not the flashiest hotel in Cancun, in fact it appears quite modest from the street. But the interior is well-appointed and modern, and the rooms spacious and comfortable.
I really loved that the beach lounge chairs and umbrellas were free for guests, and that the beach and pools were well maintained and relaxing. The staff worked really hard to keep everyone fed and taken care of, but if I would complain about one thing it's that I didn't think the drinks were very strong. Ha ha I guess that's a small worry.
I felt that the restaurants were of great quality and reasonably priced. The club lounge was a very nice added benefit, and served delicious and varied breakfasts, and drinks and appetizers at night (enough to make a reasonable dinner out of, if you had a big lunch). I really enjoyed the free margaritas. Now those were strong - thanks Gregorio!
There is also free coffee and pastries in the lobby between 5 AM and 6 AM if you are up early enough to catch them. I found it a great way to kick start my day, but didn't notice anyone else around :-)
All I can say is I am anxious to go back!

This is our third trip to Cancun and each year we have stayed at the Inter-Continental Presidente. Without hesitation, we recommend this wonderful hotel to anyone looking for an exceptional value. We have always been treated extremely courteous by all the hotel staff from the moment we step foot on the property. It has become so nice to return each year and see the familiar faces of hotel staff. Having them remember us and greet us with warmth, makes us feel right at home. We give so much credit for our great experience to the exceptional abilities of Nathalie, the General Manager. It's obvious her positive attitude and policies of taking care of the guests, their needs and desires, is carried through within all the staff of the hotel. Also, Adolfo. the Concierge took care of us with exceptional care on this trip and our previous time. The rooms just make us say, "Ah" when we walk in. They do have the best beaches in Cancun and the food is excellent. We look forward to returning next year for another great experience.

Just returned from a two week stay and it was awesome. The staff is so accommodating and friendly. We were hungry for tamales which weren't on the menu. That day, they were serving them to the employees, so they went and got an order for us...now that's service. How many hotels would go that extra mile? The Club Floor is a special place to meet friends...And well worth the upgrade. The beach...the best in Cancun! You can actually swim in the sea without being buffeted by the waves. The Executive Chef was just named the Chef of the Year...so the food was awesome. Try the grouper, the seafood soup and the Tres Leche cake...oh, and the bananas flambé...and the...it's all good!
Service is great and everyone from maids to managers greet you daily, go the extra mile to make your stay memorable, and help you relax. We've made some real friends at this hotel. My wife and I have stayed at many hotels in Cancun but the Presidente has won our hearts. That's why in June we took our entire family there for ten days...and our best friends back this October. We now meet other couples that have become friends over the years every June and October. They are all Mexican and we can't speak to each other except through a translator...and of course from our hearts. This has been our hotel of choice for the last twenty-two years and expect it to be so for another twenty-two. It's a place where new friends are met and memories made.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by cory Comfortable bed, but restoration not good
The Hotel has an excellent ubication, and we can see that they do a renovation, but unfortnally the overall sensation its still old,
as an example, they mix some modern bed head and furniture but they leave a table of old wood and very small that doesnt fit neather for rest or for work was too small and too short level of the flor.
The amenities were excelent, as the bags that they put for Laundry, etc. excelent.
But We think that the arquitect or the program of restoration is th one that was bad because it see that they expend money but not in the correct form.
Hoping that our coments make better your hotel, bye

We stayed five nights at the PRESIDENTE CANCUN RESORT and without exception, each and everyone of the staff was friendly, efficient and made us feel they were there to ensure that we enjoyed every minute of our stay, which we did! The facility was clean and fresh. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. Felix (at the outside bar) made the best pina coladas ever! Although I've been to Cancun on four previous trips, the Presidente is my new place to stay in Cancun on my next trip (and I WILL be back)!
