Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Melbourne Rialto I stay with the Intercontinental whenever I can. Over the past year this has been in Taiwan, Singapore, London, Sydney and Melbourne. Almost always it is a great experience. The Rialto was on my list, as it looks appealing both inside and out. Perhaps it was because of the quiet period in the run up to Easter, but there was a distinct lack of ambiance and the hotel didn't feel as special as others that I have stayed in. The staff were on the ball as usual, although it would have been better if there were more of them at breakfast service. Reception was very welcoming upon arrival, and also great as well on departure. One minor gripe is that the Ambassador floor (level 8) doesn't give the the same positive impression that I've had with the upgrade received in London, Sydney and Singapore. Maybe something that the hotel should consider enhancing. 23 April 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Welcome back I hadn't been to the Intercontinental Melbourne for over 3 years but the staff at reception made me very welcome and acknowledge me as a priority club member offering me late check out and other complimentary/ discounted services. This was such a fresh approach compared to other hotels I have stayed at where they process you through as a number. Well done to all the team at Intercontinental Melbourne! 21 April 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall very good I've stayed at many Intercons and I'm a returned guest at the Melbourne Intercontinental. My arrival in the rain was welcomed with a less than attentive doorman who, despite arriving by taxi at the entrance, offered no assistance with either an umbrella or help with my luggage in the pouring rain. Needless to say, the suit that I was wearing for work was drenched. The numerous times I went in and out of the main entrance, I do not believe I was greeted for farewelled by the same doorman which makes for a weird interaction. The ambiance of the hotel is alluring and seductive. The rooms are lovely and spacious. Housekeeping was immaculate even though they maintained a minimal visible appearance. Room service was prompt and polite. I used the express check out which I presume helps with the staff workload but has increased mine as I have not received a tax invoice. I will be returning to Melb for work later in the year on two further occasions and am tentatively booked at the same hotel. Let's hope it doesn't rain! 20 April 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Experience Once Again Spent 3 nights in a king club room and once again it was amazing. We always love staying here and no longer look at any other hotel because we know this is the only place to stay. Our room was large and comfortable, the bed was amazing, just the perfect mattress for a solid sleep. In fact I slept better on this bed than I do at home and we spent a small fortune on our mattress. The club lounge is wonderful we had 3 memorable evening there and the staff we so friendly and remembered our drink preference after the first night. the food was very fresh and tasty plus we received a tasting plate each night that was a nice touch. All the staff we encountered were polite and friendly and made us feel welcomed and special. Thank you Rialto Melbourne for another perfect stay. 17 April 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great staff and hotel The Intercontinental Rialto delivers everything I expect from this chain and more as I've been upgraded to a Suite last 2 stays. Buffet breakfast great, rooms clean and pleasant but most importantly, excellent staff-friendly, courteous, every single one said hello when we encountered them from out welcome at the door to check-in , to house keeping staff, staff in Club and breakfast area and the man who cooked my eggs. This hotel has maintained its standards whenever we have stayed there 17 April 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Luxury Again the Intercontinental delivers on service and class. As a Gold Ambassador it was nice to have the extra special treatment. . . room upgrade, breakfast, entry to the lounge with afternoon tea and evening drinks. Stayed two nights. Wish it was more. The cost might be a bit steep but we had the two nights for the price of one deal so it was well worth it. Recommended for that special occasion. 09 April 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service Greeting staff, desk staff, and bar staff were all professional, kind and friendly. Staff really went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. This level of service is uncommon at any other hotel chain we have stayed at. Due to an issue with our booking, the manager compensated us with a deal we found to be very fair. Our room was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. We did find glass water ring marks on the bathroom benchtop and felt full attention to wiping the bench was not given. However, we did find the general cleanliness to be fine. We had an excellent time and will definitely stay again. We will recommend this hotel to others. 09 April 2014

The staff in the Club Lounge were fantastic as were the staff/concierge at reception. Unfortunately I was looking forward to having a bath and they weren't able to accomodate me there, but everything else about the stay was very good. Will definately recommend Intercontinnental Rialto to my friends. 09 April 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exquisite property I stayed here for the first time on a business trip. The staff was extremely friendly and prepared about my arrival. They were extremely helpful with all my questions. The manager was very active and was seen constantly interacting with the guests at the lobby and the lounge. The ambience of the hotel was great, room was fantastic. Lounge staff were polite ad courteous. I really enjoyed my stay here and the staff made me feel special. The only caveat I would say is the hotel policy that charges for lounge access for platinum members. Otherwise, this was excellent. 05 April 2014

We were treated so well that our stay was and is memorable. Everyone smiling and most welcoming. Genuine and caring. Beds were comfortable with an added choice of pillows. Room service was prompt and delightful. Breakfast, plenty to choose from an array of fruits, yoghurts, omelette etc. I have travelled a fair bit and stayed at numerous hotels, this is far the best I have ever stayed at. 04 April 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Extra service My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Intercontinental Rialto, although it was a very short time we were there. On arrival I realised that I had forgotten to give my key back to the B&B we stayed in the night before at Beechworth, so the Concierge kindly wrapped it and promised to post it back to that property on my behalf - it was much appreciated. Sadly though I often feel that tipping should be for services above and beyond the job description, and when we retrieved our car from the overnight parking at the hotel, it was blatantly obvious that the person who opened the car door for us was waiting for cash - I don't like feeling that I am compelled to give money to someone who is only doing his job. Call me old fashioned, but this is Australia, not the USA. Good service = earning your salary. Fantastic service = tip. 02 April 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Same standard as previously stayed When I checked in, I asked if they could give me upgrade and front desk told me giving me a better room than previously stayed, but upon getting into the room, i dis not see any different! When I called for late check out at 2pm, the operator insisted no way, but when I went to front desk, they say OK, no consistency! Other than that, everything else is the same. Check out billing was not correct, first they charge me for 2 breakfast when I had only 1, and they charge me double the merchant fees when I paid half by cash. So need to check bill very thoroughly. Location is still great! Italian restaurant beside it is fantastic! 31 March 2014
